Just own both of them. Two different animals. I went back and forth driving both till I just decided on RS3. With a tune, down pipe and good fuel they will put a beating on most cars. A turbo upgrade will put a pounding on super cars. There are a few of them running 9’s in the quarter on stock engines and trans. Just a tune transforms these into a different animal. Audi did lock the down to 400hp. So much potential easy.

Roberto Lombardi haha. The RS3 is not bad at understeer. It’s actually the first Audi that feels planted. I’m still a BMW guy, but I love my RS3. It’s a street warrior. Have you seen the new M2comp and the amount of understeer they have? Watch track videos.

Farhan Chowdhury I love how people come here and say that Audi’s understeer, but haven’t driven the RS3 Maybe other Audi’s yes, but the RS3 is very good. Excellent daily driver car with excellent power and amazing sound. I think people hate the car cause it dominates the street.

Farhan Chowdhury Like I said I didn’t buy it for a track car. I would use a 911 Porsche for that. It’s a great fast road car and that’s what I bought it for. I wanted a 10 second car that I can drive in the winter. You guys always base everything on track. 911 is for the track. People buy RS3’s to terrorize the streets. 500 HP is so easy with a tune. In reality it’s the best bang for the buck. An all year round fast car for any weather. All my rear drive cars just sit and are for seasonal.

Farhan Chowdhury Have you even driven an RS3! Nope!!! I’ve driven plenty of M2’s and own and RS3 now. I come from BMW’s. I know all about the M2. First one is ehh. Comp is better, but I hate the dam sound of the S55. Fun driving car, but not for 200 miles a day. The RS3 doesn’t push in that bad. Maybe the older ones in the UK. The US sedan is pretty good. Yes I can afford a 911. That’s what ruins the M2 for me. Yes it’s more money, but it’s the real deal. RS3 is a fun road car. When tuned, with springs, and a rear sway bar, it is a total blast. It’s a 4 door compact R8 sedan. 5 cylinder is the same family. Sounds just like my good friends Huracan. I’ve had my fair share of winter tires on rear drive fast cars. It’s ok locally, but I drive to far to deal with it. The RS3 can go anywhere with ease in any weather still going fast. I’ve had a lot of fun going sideways my whole life. I just prefer to go faster with no slip while having incredible sound. It’s funny cause I’m friends with lots of BMW guys and they all love my car. Especially the Exclusive color I got. Maybe if BMW comes out with an adaptable AWD M3, I’ll get one in a couple years.

Farhan Chowdhury what year M2 do you have?
1
Farhan Chowdhury The RS3 doesn’t shift for me. I use paddles in manual everyday. I let that baby rev and sound great. Smiles all the time.

Farhan Chowdhury You’ve never driven either, and you’re the expert. Typical commenters. You can study all you want, but first hand experience is the only way. Like I said first hand experience, the RS3 handle great on the back roads. I can get way more speed than an M2. Highway, the RS3 will kill even the M2 comp. Top end power on the RS3 on the highway is incredible. I’ve actually own an RS3 and driven plenty of M2’s. I know from first hand experience what both feel like back to back. Like I said road car, the RS3 wins 100 times over. The original M2 is so slow. Comp is better, but dies at top end. Not great on the highway. I almost bought a Comp last week to go along my RS3. I went in with my hopes too high from reviews. I might get a ZL1 Camaro 650HP. That’s a real rear drive car. Better road feel then M2 comp. Power not even comparable. Although a tuned RS3 will still kill the 650 hp ZL1 in a straight line. Most likely I’ll do a turbo upgrade on my car and will do 9’s in the 1/4 mile. The 5 cylinder is half of the V10, but with a turbo. Tuned they are killing super cars at the half mile races.

Farhan Chowdhury You clearly have no experience hands on. You’re making an assumption without driving them. Get real!!! Yes I have money to own both cause I work hard and smart. Did you even watch this video? Like I said numerous times, I’m not an Audi fan at all and can’t believe I bought one. I bought it cause it’s an amazing drivetrain that handles great on the roads and is fast. Tuned it’s in another league. When a person knows a car is a better road car, they mention Audi is not a track car. 90 % of M2 owners don’t even track their car and drive on the road. Like I said, M2 is a nice car. It’s just not for me. I’m used to having something faster. I don’t have to work for Ford. I’m self employed and can afford houses and cars. I live life with hands on experience.

Farhan Chowdhury I deal a lot with engineers. Now I see why you are making these comments. I always have the hardest time trying to get engineers to learn things. It’s all text book with you guys. Haha If you’re an engineer, why don’t you own an M2?
1
Farhan Chowdhury If you think an M2 will keep up with an RS3 on an on-ramp, that’s because you haven’t driven them. On ramp is where the difference is big. My friend in his M4 can barely keep up with me. He barely gets traction even doing 40. 😂 It’s fun though. Stop watching videos and get hands on experience. It’s a different experience. I learned to take reviews with a grain of salt. I wanted something that was fast and AWD. Why can’t that sink in your head. The M2 was 15k cheaper than my car. But I got 5 k knocked off mine cause I know the dealership good. I’m all about better quality interior too. I’m in it 4 hours a day minimum. If I lived with my parents and didn’t drive much and a young kid, an M2 maybe would have been better. I’m older and drive long distances, love fast cars on the highway and from stop lights. The RS3 was the winner for me and I didn’t mind paying extra for it. My friend got rid of his 16 M3 for an RS3. He loves it and he said it’s more comfortable too on crappy roads and long rides. He tuned it and can’t believe how fast it is. If Audi didn’t have this 5 cylinder, then I would have not bought an Audi, unless it’s the R8. This engine is a masterpiece. With a tune and bolt ons it respond unbelievably well. Oh have you heard an M2 Comp launch control? It’s embarrassing sounding. My friend with Draggy is only doing 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. DCT.

Farhan Chowdhury watch this M2 Comp video on the track by a pro racer. https://youtu.be/yJTU0B90Cl4

Farhan Chowdhury Notice the understeer on the M2 Comp. It’s time around the track isn’t great neither. Not impressed!
1
Farhan Chowdhury No I’m talking about the understeer in all parts of that video. Chris Harris mentioned the M2 Comp has a bit of understeer too.
1
Farhan Chowdhury You do realize that video Chris posted is from years ago on the older RS3. That’s with the old iron engine with it sitting far up front. Audi changed the engine to alumni and dropped some weight. They moved the emu back too. Anyone to compare them both say it’s a huge difference. Night and day difference from the old one.
1
Farhan Chowdhury Yet, I’m still romping past most modded cars on the road. It’s main intended purpose. Just like he enjoys it in this video. Smiles per miles with that sound and speed. Even on bad weather, while other performance cars are either garaged or taking it easy.

incognito96 It’s really not bad at all. I came from a lifetime of owning rear drive. I’m impressed with the RS3 big time. Older Audi’s yes, they were bad, but this is pretty neutral. Best car I’ve owned!
1
incognito96 Haha. I was the same way in the beginning before I bought it. These cars make ultimate road cars. Welcome to the RS3 club! What color did you get?
1
incognito96 what year is it?
1
incognito96 8P. So that’s the older hatchback then . I’ve got the new Sedan. Love it. 2 years and 40k miles.
