@MrSelfDestruct-1 The 4Runner engine is reliable cause it’s made in Japan. Keep in mind it’s underpowered so it won’t blow. Nothing exciting about the engine. It just gets you places. Although I have seen a few engine failures. All manufacturers have them. Now the 4Runner interior is just ok. Not the highest quality. Lots of creaks and noises in cold from plastics. Paint is terrible on Toyotas. Especially the 4Runner. Body panels are cheap and will rust if you don’t have it protected underneath. Will also dent easy as it’s thin. Frame is also known to rust and rot. You need to protect them. Nothing is refined in a 4Runner. They are loose and lethargic while driving. Some people claim to love it, because they are led to believe that from online hype. I’ve driven thousands of cars in 36 years in the business. When you start driving BMW, Lamborghini, Audi, etc. , a 4Runner is last thing you will ever want to drive again. It’s not a tank like everyone claims. It’s not bulletproof, cause a bullet will go right through the block. 4Runner is a reliable truck for older men who refuse to drive something refined and with tech. They are afraid of change. Nothing wrong with it. I myself would rather something refined, faster, luxury. Sport. I don’t care if I have to pay more for it and have to pay more for repairs and maintenance. I want to experience finer things in life and willing to pay for it. Thinking of getting stuck in a 4Runner for life gives me bad anxiety. 20 years ago they were cool. Now it’s just lazy on Toyotas part.

So you’re a Honda fan? 😂

In five years, parts are worth 50k plus. So it’s not gonna go under that.

@lbamusic all combustion engines have spark plugs. Manufactures got rid of horrid carburetors in the 80’s. They went injected after that.
7
@MaddJakd straight 6 engines are designed to last forever. They are the most balanced. The best engines ever built are all straight 6. They are known to go 500k miles.

@user-de4jk8vj4c Next gen 4Runners will be made in USA and Mexico. All will have 4 cylinder turbos, which is a good thing. Toyota Japan will no longer be shipping to America after this year due to low profits. Other countries are willing to pay more. Hopefully Toyota refines the interior for its higher price that’s incoming. I know the Tundra and Sequoia are very cheap interiors. Lots of noises. It’s not acceptable for 70k plus. Toyota might have most reliable cars, but are very boring with average materials at a higher cost to consumer. So you are prepaying for parts. It’s built in to the price.

@msanding1 He likes it. Listen to what he says.
5
Yes. They do have recirculating pumps.
4
Honda and Toyota are known for it. You need to get a German vehicle it you don’t want rust.
3
GM is awful.
3
Cylinder deactivation is bad. I know Honda did it to pass emissions requirements, but they also create job security for themselves too.
2
@TheAnnoyingBoss write to Honda corp. The more complaints they have, the faster they fix it. Right now, Honda has nobody complaining to head corporate. Complaining on YouTube will get you nowhere. Honda doesn’t read comments.
2
They are vibration reducers.
2
Its location is in an awful area. Makes it hard to work on.
2
Mazda is true Japanese and are very reliable. Acura is US made company and does indeed have issues. Look at all newest recalls for Acura. Lots of them.
2
@laptech3767 Acura is not Japanese. No such thing there. It’s a US based company built by Honda America. You can’t buy Acura in Japan or any other country other than America and Canada.
2
Hybrid will last longer and is a much better drivetrain. Less things to break. Less moving parts. It’s also a much more refined drivetrain that gets better mpg.
1
They buy Toyotas and Subarus.
1
New LC500 is different.
1
Look at the 2024 Toyota 4Runner. That is really from 2004. That is the most outdated vehicle on the road.
1
Thanks to inflation.
1
I hate that they still use a timing belt.
1
I agree.
1
Belts can break and have to be changed every 100k or sooner if you beat on them. I would rather have an extremely durable chain.
1
The touchpad is awful and a huge distraction. Especially when you are in Apple Car play mode. BMW does it best. Uses knob and touch screen. Best of both worlds.
1
This is a lot harder to work on then BMW and Audi. It also uses a timing belt which means at 100k, it all needs to come apart to change that annoying belt. BMW B58 engine is a smarter buy in BMW.
1
@mohnnadmercedes8246 Business tax write offs. We are not paying for it.
1
All direct injection engine will. Don’t care what brand it is. If it has direct injection, it will carbon up. Thats why you need to get a walnut blast. Easy job.
1
These are most traded in towards BMW and Audi.

@kevinmcd112 You drive a 1.5 turbo which is Hondas worst engine. Honda is getting rid of it because it’s a nightmare. The 2.0t was the best 4 cylinder to get in the Accord. Hybrids are not only for fuel savings. They give instant torque off the start and it helps minimize engine and transmission issues. Plus no turbos to have issues with and no overheating issues like you will with the 1.5 turbo head gaskets. The fastest cars built these days are hybrids. I drove my buddies Lamborghini Revuelto and Ferrrari SF90. They are brutally fast due to the added hybrid. Although I’m still getting used to them being quiet. Hybrid is the best system because you still have an engine that runs on gas and you don’t need to plug it in, although a plug in hybrid will give longer distance and more power. Honda won’t go full electric. Not anytime soon. Especially with Trump removing the green energy deal. So car companies are not being forced anymore to go electric. So we might see performance gas engines coming out with hybrid making great power. Hybrids don’t have serpentine belts, no alternator, no starter, no transmission, and no mechanical AC compressor that usually goes. So a lot less moving parts that will save you thousands. Plus it’s so much less strain on the engine that is now removed with the hybrid system. The engine isn’t pushing the car and wearing it out. The motors are moving the car with such ease because it’s direct and instant torque. A lot less moving parts and vibration. I am an old school gas only engine high performance nut that’s also into fast exotic cars. I’ve been playing around with hybrids and learning all the different systems and how they benefit the drivetrain and give us pleasure of instant torque and power. It’s a very seamless system. Honda is off to a great start and will get better and faster as they go further. Hondas new hybrid system will be their most reliable system. For generic cars, Hondas are the most fun. I’m hoping Honda develops a 6 speed manual hybrid system with over 400hp. They are very capable of doing it.

This isn’t for people who can’t afford them.
