  3.  @JohnLee-db9zt Turbos only make engines less reliable when a turbo is installed on a NA purpose built engine. When an engine is designed for intense boost, it will be built to last. If you built engines, you would understand much more clearly. It’s simple technology. A NA engine works harder because it needs to rev higher and it’s a lot of stress on the metal to produce that power NA. Turbos simplify the way power and torque are made.

  6.  O-PAC Toyota should have made an inline 6 and not a V. That’s their mistake. They know firsthand an inline engine is much better for longevity and turbo.

  7. You clearly don’t have engine building knowledge. Turbo engines are easy to build. All it takes is a thick block with large cooling ports, strong internals, and an ultra thick head gasket for extreme pressure. A turbo itself is the easiest technology to make. A case, propellor, and long life bearings. Add secondary cooling pumps. Simple math. Non engine builders will never understand. NA engines actually work harder. Turbo engines make power easy at low rpm.

  8.  @arashefi  Yes. Turbo has been out for decades. All trailer trucks are powered by straight 6 turbo diesel engines. Those turbos go millions of miles. I wish Toyota put an inline 6 in the Tundra instead of crappy V6.

  11. The V6 is old and outdated. A 4 cylinder will make more power and be more reliable. Turbo technology is so simple. Trailer trucks use turbos and go millions of miles. Toyota will claim these to 300-500k plus miles. Plus engines will be easy to work on now. Parts are cheap.

  15.  @brianping3105 For 68k, it should have more power. It’s very underpowered for it price. It’s 10 speed is also a hit or miss. I’m also worried with latest build quality as many have complained in the groups lately. This whole parts shortage have forced the company to find alternatives for electronics and it’s not working out well for some users.

  17. Problem with Japan is poor metal that rusts badly and poor paint. Mexico is supposed to rust proof anodize them like VW does. Thats major. Paint quality might still be same as they always cut costs on paint.

  22. Japan for now. Prices will be 59k to 80k. Most will buy the Lexus GX as it’s more luxury for just a tad more.

  23. Longevity will be better. The paint will probably be the same crap quality as always. They are supposed to rust proof them now, which is huge. Turbo will make more power easy now. So far the 4 turbo sounds great in the Taco.

  24.  @americandude3825  A turbo will last for a long time. Easiest part to make. Turbos blowing are very rare. This isn’t the 90’s anymore. Technology has advanced a ton. A V6 works a lot harder.

  29. American made will be a huge step backwards in quality. Toyota needs to learn how BMW America does it with top quality while being made in US. They need to hire the best workers with passion. Not some workers who are forced to work for minimum wage to stay out of jail.

  31.  @arashefi  Gasoline and electric are totally opposite. So there is no space between. Electric is just instant power and torque. Gasoline engines need to rev up to build power. I’m not a fan of electric, but they are built the most proper way for power, balance, and 1000’s of less moving parts. So electric will be most reliable. Once range is 1000 miles, electric will be loved.

  32.  @arashefi  Toyota spent money on R&D back in the day on the V6’s. They decided to not upgrade so they can make all that extra profit from paid R&D. So technically they ripped people off. Tesla chopped prices, once R&D was paid. He just exposed all car companies. This is why 4Runner prices are coming down. People just found out the truth about R&D and profits. Toyota kept raising prices and also marked up prices to screw the consumer over. In a year, older 4 Runners will start dropping in prices as everyone will love the new 4 cylinder turbo and the way the new truck handles. Toyota makes a fortune from its consumers. Owners will make excuses for Toyota as to why they don’t upgrade. They justify why a v6 slug will be better.

  36. Only company that fully builds in Japan is Mazda. Toyota is only 4Runner, Rav Prime SE. Nothing from Honda built in Japan is sent to America. So only Mazda.
