  2.  @brettlayne6591 Volk didn’t have to gain weight. He still cut from his normal 185. Instead of 145, he did an easier cut at 155, making him better. When someone calls him only a 145 guy, I laugh. Stop discrediting Volk. He would even clean out the 155. He just couldn’t get past Islam twice. Charles also cleared out the division, then Islam beat him easy. Islam has three more fights until he retires.

  17.  @Abbas_Hasen a longer camp or longer weight cut couldn’t avoid a head kick in first round. That’s why Volk accepted his loss and said he’s done in 155. Being knocked out that soon, nothing could have avoided it.

Using that as an excuse when you get knocked out in 3 minutes is worst excuse. Now if Islam beat him on the ground, then may yes. But being knocked out like that, a longer camp could not avoid that.   24.  @asumingstudio  Sucks to lose money. My friend was so gung ho on Volk winning. His wife is not happy. It’s his third loss to me in bets. It’s chump change he to him though. He officially said he’s never betting against Khabibs guys ever again. My last big loss was GSP vs Matt many years ago. Was only 5k, but still hate losing. Didn’t think GSP would quit like that.

  26.  @handsolo1546  Dana already said no. Remember Leon went to Islam years ago to train to learn how to defend takedowns. Islam used to Ragdoll Leon badly in training. Dana knows this and doesn’t want Islam as double champ. It’s bad enough Dana can’t get him fights at 155.

Volk even knows it and that’s why he won’t even ask for a rematch. He knew that was the real islam. The first fight was only 50 percent Islam.

  31. @@VolkanovskisCardio I’ve been in the sport since 1991. Personally have known Dana since 1991. Then he met the brothers and started UFC. Like Dana said, being knocked out that soon, there should be no excuses for short notice. Volk is always ready. He’s a champ for a reason and was P4p champ for a reason. Islam had short notice too. He was trained for Charles and not Volk. He literally practiced that kick with Ikram Aliskerovs coach 1 hour before fight. So you theory of Volk needing longer camp is silly.
