  4. In all fairness, on the rare occasion when a politician does an excellent job, they run an extremely high risk of being shot too. That's one of the shitty things about politics, and unfortunately it keeps very bright & thoughtful people away from politics. It just isn't worth the aggravation.

  5. Bows (including crossbows) are great fun if you're willing to put in the time and effort to get good. It's not as easy as it looks when you haven't tried it. If you have to fight for your life, a gun is the only option. Bows are just about useless for self defense, even if you're good at hunting with them. The time between shots is too long.

  8. I'm pretty sure it's already like that, and always has been. I'm Canadian, I can't just move to the USA and buy guns. I'd have to get naturalized first. You don't hear about it much, but Canadians DO, in fact, move to the United States just because of the Second Amendment--usually after they, or someone they know, has been very severely assaulted, and they're sick and tired of being defenseless. So, going to the States is what they do. Here in Canada, even a rape victim, or stalking victim (targeted individual) cannot carry a weapon without permission from the government/police, and they can only do it AFTER they have been raped or tortured. By then, it's too late, so Canadians say "fuck this shithole" and move to the US.

  9. .22LR has a reputation for being low cost, but you can get littler ones than that. .17 HMR or HM2 are eentsy (but still lethal.)
