@And-y39 Gas more than anything. The other 'consumable' costs of driving are negligible. Oil, filters, brake pads & rotors, all that stuff is dirt cheap compared to gas. Also, with the Tesla being very expensive, it costs more to insure.

@And-y39 Cars in general are expensive, which means so is insurance. Also, a lot of people get wasted and wreck them all the time. So, everyone has to swallow the higher cost of insurance.

@iKingRPG That's US dollars, for the barebones base model. About 45-50 grand Canadian, plus sales tax!! That's one hell of a lot of money for a rapidly-depreciating asset that's just gonna get pulverized by some drunk on the road, or stolen and vandalized just because it's nice and you worked very hard for it. I'm pretty sure you can get a base model Dodge Neon for around 10 grand US--brand new with a warranty. It isn't electric, but it's decent enough on gas because it's small and lightweight.
