I expect a TV to be a video display, not a bureaucracy.

@ThinkerOnTheBus Yet he who expects nothing is deceased :)

Bunch of assholes. Look at the bright side, at least you're not a psychologist :)

Not to be a buzzkill, but your computer does it all the time :) Windows is like that. You can "shut up" Windows with a variety of programs that are freely available, but I'm pretty sure it still manages to contact Microsoft and upload data about your computer use. I only install Windows without Microsoft account info so I can't use Microsoft Store, but it STILL sends info to the company.

It's not a "security" camera if it can connect to ANYTHING but your own local private network!

I'm an IT expert. I barely know anything about computers, but I know I don't :)

I always used to pay for all my software. Always, always legit. Then when we had home invasions and my computer was stolen THREE TIMES and the police didn't give a fuck, I just said "fuck it" and pirate everything now whenever possible. And yeah, I've had fucking pigs threaten me with prison for it. Cops are such faggots :)

Imagine buying a car with non-removable tires. Wear them out or get a flat tire and you replace the entire car! Apple builds some cool stuff. No idea why they make their shit non-serviceable, it really sucks. Especially anything to do with non-replaceable batteries, you now have a perfectly good device you can't really use. And now, SSDs.

Sounds like a neat idea for home lighting but my gawd what a pain in the ass. Just install 'em and turn 'em on. Control from your computer on local network. Seems fine to me.

Why the fuck can't these "geniuses" figure out how to build a damn car that's practically impossible to steal and/or vandalize instead of all this techno-jive?

Isn't that how you pronounce it though? AD-ver-TISE-ment. Not ad-VER-tis-MENT.

What, they make USB dildos now?! Damn, I just built a nice new PC and I'm still so far behind the times...

You format the drive. Big fucking deal.

Piracy isn't stealing really, but it's copying without the owner's permission. You're not taking anything that the owner already has, but you're denying them their right to benefit/profit from the work they have done in that one instance. Wealthy and successful artists, for example, don't give a fuck. If you pirate their music, they're just glad somebody is listening. It only applies to ones that are very wealthy though. It's the businesses that need other people's work (like music, games/apps etc.) to stay in business that get bent out of shape about it. The authorities get REALLY worked up about it too even though they do it themselves all the time.

Linux is probably fine for a bunch of stuff but many people use their PCs for gaming, and most games are probably not available in a Linux version! Same thing with graphics card drivers.

It's the Internet. Forcing people to sit and watch ads like they did on commercial TV back when I watched it 30+ years ain't gonna happen. People will just close their browser and go do some gaming. People can see the intro of an ad and skip the rest if they're not interested. As for Youtube blocking your video player, just turn off your adblocker. It will work again. Then turn your adblocker back on again and it works fine for a few days to a couple months before they block it again. Then you just do it again.

The biggest problem with electric cars isn't that they're electric. It's that a 1,000-pound $20,000 battery pack is considered a "Part." You know, like a FUCKING SPARK PLUG IS A "PART"
