Cars can make you a bit happier, but only AFTER you've figured out how to make top dollar--and by then, the odds are pretty good you're getting older and will sacrifice everything for the biggest possible house and a couple kids you don't want because "SHE wanted it." If you haven't nailed that 100+ grand a year job yet, you can sort of just piddle around with cars. This shit is expensive, even if it's a 20-year old car in decent shape and all you want is to put some rims on it and maybe install a decent stereo. Your car can, and probably will, eat up more of your life than ANY physical possession has any business consuming--even a house! That's time that you could have spent pursuing a $100,000 job that you hate (like any job) and have the money to pursue a car that you actually like instead of pissing away a decade of your life fucking around with a car because you can't afford the one you really want. They're just cars. Some of them are cool cars, but they're still just cars.

  2. People with minimum wage jobs have 8-year-old high-mileage sports cars that will take them 10 years to pay for. People with high-paying jobs have beaters :)

  3. Manual transmission can make driving more fun when you're in the mood for it. In all fairness, the new automatics are VERY good indeed. They're almost as efficient as a manual now and expensive cars with automatics are faster now. I haven't driven manual in many years (I'm 46 y.o.) but it still feels weird to me just shifting into "Drive" instead of actually Driving the vehicle :)

  4. The FD is just lovely. It has timeless, gorgeous styling and is very lightweight and stiff for a car of entirely ordinary, conventional construction. Yours is gorgeous in yellow!

  5. These are beautiful cars, it's a shame the interior quality is such total shit. As for the engine, it's quite reliable if taken care of.
