@tubthump I think the US military pushed it,the estimate for an invasion of Japan was minimum 500,000 dead US soldiers. And the actual fact is that the nukes didn't get Japan to surrender, it was Stalin withdrawing Red Army troops from the coast opposite Japan and promising not to invade if Japan surrendered.

I'm just saying, your attitude is EXACTLY what victims of targeted bombings of civilians feel, and this is why, war crimes aside, targeted bombings of civilians are ineffective. In citizens and enemy combatants, these bombings arouse feelings of aggressive revenge that only prolong the war @jessemauricio8096
