@yksogrenci6376 Fact is what can any government in that country do? When you have a population which refuses to produce and has the most insane rates of cultural corruption what can be done? If the people are corrupt, naturally the government will be as well no? You can magically take the best government the world has ever seen, it still won't be able to fix that country.

Except it was never an alliance. Russia has a heavy presence in Syria which heavily annoys the Turks, so they're using the Ukraine crisis to extract concessions out of Russia in Syria. Anytime the Russians baulk at their promises in Syria, Turkey pulls a stunt like this to remind them of what is at stake. This idea that these two are allies is ridiculous. They're literally fighting proxy wars against each other on 3 separate battlefields.

@Achyut Chaudhary, These nations lived under the Soviet Union for a very long term and suffered terribly. So your advice is for them to join the Soviet Union 2.0? lol The EU would never take Armenia and Azerbaijan aside from selling the EU gas wants nothing to do with them.

@maxmichalik4938 For quite a while now Sweden has been financing armed groups which have been blowing up schools and hospitals in Turkey. So yea, you can imagine how angry the people are. No government can resist that level of pressure from it's people. Especially not a country which actually has real elections. That is why Finland was able to recently get in. Turkey essentially told them if they make their Nato bid separate fom Sweden's Finland could get in no problems. Finland took a while to make that decision but eventually realized it was the only way in. At first they made a joint bid to get in together, which is why Finland couldn't get in first time they tried. Either way no one really cares at this point because it was Finland with their huge border with Russia that held strategic importance for Nato. Once Finland is in Sweden being in or not in doesn't really matter to Nato strategic interests anymore. Which is probably why it's not big new anymore that Sweden is left out in the cold.
