@dggmn2109 I'd imagine refusing to sell defensive weapons to nations you call your allies is the definition of unreliable. But no one here is surprised, lunatics have been running our foreign policy for well over 30 years.
51
@kayrayldrm2688 Yes this is also a huge selling point for the TB2. If I'm a country and I'm looking to purchase an attack drone, I'm more likely to go with a tried and tested model like the TB2. It's tested in Nagorno-Karabakh against highly sophisticated Russian air defense systems. It's tested in Syria against again Russian hardware. In Libya it's tested against a plethora of different defense systems. Yes some American models are much more high tech but again at what cost? I'd rather have 7 TB2s for the same price as one predator. As time goes on I'd imagine many nations will be lining up to get this machine.
27
@Bishar Gellow Mahad, A lot of the drones in the video are better than the TB2, not just with payload either. But with that said you're right for going with the Bayraktar TB2 over all these drones due to the price/capability ratio. When price and expendability are added into the equation the Bayraktar TB2 is probably the best way to go.
26
@dggmn2109 I don't think I need to be the sole person who believes our foreign policy establishment is unreliable. A large chunk of American voters (who pay their bills btw) also feel this way. I'd imagine you'd also find a hard time finding the governments of many nations who don't agree with this assessment as well. So no, I don't need to go ask the Russians to tell me almost everyone on this planet seems to already know. Time for you to join the party champ.
20
@g1u2y345 A lot like maps proliferating around Greece which shows Turkey's entire western coast as part of Greece? The difference being their national map is possible for them.
19
@g1u2y345 I'd imagine the Ukrainians would rather the Turks have Crimea than Russia lol
18
@dggmn2109 What in the world is Artsakh? Is that a city in Iraq or something?
17
@gtanj If there are very good anti-drone weapons, you'd think Russia with the second most powerful military in the world would have had it. They've had their equipment all over destroyed by drones and haven't been able to stop it. Maybe America has such weapons? Maybe anti-drone systems aren't as advanced as the drones themselves and need time to catch up? What ever the case, drones are highly capable very sought after and are changing the doctrines of war.
12
@its_h4k1 I'd imagine you were also screaming propaganda when their drone prototypes were being shown years ago. Maybe the TFX is BS maybe its' not. No one really knows. But the only thing we have to go off is their recent track record on building military tech, a track record which is pretty damned good. Personally I wouldn't bet against it.
11
@dggmn2109 Interesting, I'll look it up one day. Thanks for the answer. Always cool to learn something new.
9
No, it is a military regional power. Do you have any idea what super power means? It's the ability to project power across the entire globe. Only one military on earth has the capability right now.
8
TB2 is in no way better than the MQ9. But when you put price to quality into the equation, then yes it's probably a better purchase. If I was running a country I'd be hordes of TB2s over 1 or two Mq9s at the same price.
7
@Yekemcar So you're saying when nations are purchasing military equipment price is not a factor? Interesting.
6
@Anon emous A 1.5 million dollar drone putting down insane amounts of 800 million dollar air defense systems? A few lost drones still makes it a resounding success.
6
@g1u2y345 So your point is that France, England America and a plethora of others also shouldn't be in Nato? Do you realize what you're saying? France to this day denies their 12 genocides in Africa, have they been denied Nato access? Nato isn't some subjective feminine tea group who complains about events from 100s of years ago. It was made as a hard military alliance to stop the Soviets. The war in Nagorno Karabakh made people curious so they did some research about this godforsaken region no one knew about. Low and behold we come to find that the Armenians have been denying an obvious ethnic cleansing of 800,000 people. If you were so into the moral aspects of not denying history, do you also ridiculously bring that topic up in every single conversation about anything under the sun? Stop being an idiot.
5
@farzana6676 MQ-9Reaper is not classified in the same class as the Tb2. Besides you'd have a hard time finding people who would claim one MQ-9 is better to have than 50TBs. Which is btw what the math on price works out to. You'd either have to be an idiot or have other political considerations to buy the MQ-9. Wasting tax payer money like that isn't always wise.
5
@g1u2y345 Imagine assuming a guy is brainwashed by X Y or Z just because he said "Cringe" That too is very cringe no?
4
Is there a country called "South Macedonia" If not, it's ridiculous to expect people not to call Macedonia Macedonia. Quite childish and petty in fact.
4
Imagine being so petty that you make a federal case (literally) out of what another country decides to name itself.
4
@anilhaksever The guy isn't saying the Akinci wasn't included because it's a future concept. He said drones which were future concepts were added but the Akinci which is already flying was omitted.
4
@bertrandmarion1927 Poland has plenty of money, not to mention their security needs are much higher than other Nato nations due being near the front lines if the Russians attack. I'd imagine it's simple math. You can buy like 50 TB2s for the price of one American drone. Yes the American drones are better but not so much better than one can be more effective than 50 TB2s. It's actually insane to spend that kind of money on one drone when 50 drones of another kind will give you 10x more firepower for the same cost.
3
@konstantinospapadopoulos7735 Last I checked Virginia isn't a country. Last I checked another state isn't forcing people in Virginia to call themselves west Virginia. If they did attempt such insanity, I doubt the people living there would go along with it. You literally went out of your way to prove my point.
3
@konstantinospapadopoulos7735 Last I checked that is the name they wanted for the country. They weren't able to because they have batshit insane neighbors. Speaking of said neighbors, is there a country they border who they aren't fighting with? Sheer insanity.
3
@posidon74 Again who is group X to ever say something like "we gave a name to group Y." The fact you don't see the insanity in this, is quite frankly mindboggling. If they want to be called Macedonians, I'm going to call them Macedonians. If they wanted to be called purple bunnies, I'd call them purple bunnies. You'd have to be insane to put yourself in a situation where you can decide for a third party what they do or don't call themselves. I can understand you though, your region has no shortage of insanity so I'm not shocked.
3
@Ahmed, Iran doesn't really have what are called "drones" They have large toy remote control airplanes. Extremely low tech.
3
@Villian I'd imagine the strategic policy makers in Nato don't agree with you. Who to believe? People do this for a living at the highest levels or the analysis of a random person on youtube who disagrees with them? hmmmmmm Hard to choose.
3
@archerc3811 More capabilities for sure, cheaper? I highly doubt it.
3
@MegaDonlemon Possession is 9/10ths of the law. They teach you that day one skippy.
3
@Tom Johnston Any country who's population doesn't shit on streets, beaches and train tracks>India.
3
@bugroth2457 Yes they are an extremely powerful regional power. They can project power not only on their direct neighbors but also into Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia. I just find the superpower tag ridiculous. Can Turkey project military power Pacific Ocean for example. It cannot.
3
@franknwogu4911 It has everything to do with the middle class and upper middle class. The poor barely pay taxes due to low income and the super rich with every tax loophole you can think of pay very little. People who make between 60k and 300k pay an extremely large bulk of the federal budget.
2
@Conducting, And they cost so much few nations can afford to have more than a few of them. R.I.P. middle class tax payers.
2
@g1u2y345 I'm actually a proponent of Armenian genocide recognition, but again I still fail to see how him saying cringe magically makes him brainwashed by XYZ on this matter. Even a person who is a proponent of the Armenian genocide being accepted generally does cringe when it's shoved into every single conversation possible. That is cringe worthy....... Fact of the matter is there are very few rational people out there these days and you just added another notch into their numbers. Well done.
2
@konstantinospapadopoulos7735 Still trying to argue that you have the right to name a nation and what the people living there want is of no consequence? Seriously?
2
@konstantinospapadopoulos7735 You said no Greek tried to name anyone, except that is exactly what the people in this thread at doing. Trying to decide what people of another sovereign nation can and cannot call themselves. If Canada wanted to name themselves the anything under the sun, it wouldn't be up to me as an American to say "no that can't be your name." Regardless of what name they pick.
2
@Eran_Haim Not sure what that has to do with them helping Somali insane fundamentalists trained and armed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE. That's almost like me claiming America and Russia can't be enemies because they're both Christian nations
2
@Godgaara, according to terms of the agreement you speak of there was also a very important clause. Turkey basically says "I'll give you these islands but you have to sign an agreement that you will never put any military outposts or military hardware on these islands." These islands are now armed to the teeth. So according to your logic can Turkey now take back these islands due to breach of contract? If so, it's irrelevant if these islands have an EEZ or not as once they're taken back by Turkey due to breach of contract it won't matter will it? The scary part for Greece is if Turkey decided to do this, there is nothing Greece can do to stop it. Her only hope is that world powers won't allow it and I'd imagine it's a scary situation to be depended upon the whims of other nations if they will decide to support you or not. A time will come when they won't, then what? Islands will all be taken. If your leaders had any sort of long term strategic thinking they'd negotiate now and find a lasting peace, for if they don't. Eventually all those islands will be taken.
2
@orhanyokus1921 I would be surprised if you had an IQ over 80.
2
@archerc3811 If it has more options than it is more advanced. That is the definition of advanced, aka options. If it's cheaper and has more options and nations are still preferring to buy the TB2 over the Wing Loong, that means something is wrong with the Wing Loong.
2
@archerc3811 I wonder how that is working out for them. I'm fairly sure Turkey is giving TB2s to Bosnia and Kosovo. I highly doubt they'd sell them to Serbia. So it makes sense that Serbia would have to go elsewhere for their drones.
2
@oguzhanak724 Cool story bro. Translate it to English and maybe I'll have a decent reply for you.
2
@MegaDonlemon I don't have ownership rights, I am not from Cyprus or any country which has any sort of claim on Cyprus. My response that the childish man earlier was spot on, I can't be blamed if you were emotionally triggered by the subject matter.
2
@MegaDonlemon Oh so one needs to be from a specific place to be in a position to call your bullshit? You do realize you sound like a madman right? Maybe the same kind of madman of the 1960s and 70s Greek Cypriots who tried to ethnically cleanse a small minority group from a very specific island? hmmm Something in the waters over there which drives you mad?
2
@user-lc7jy4jd4y That's a fairly interesting statement. But again I don't see exactly what that has to do with being a "superpower"
2
Turkey can't leave Nato and Nato isn't interested in having them leave either. Long term Turkey's main competition and threat factor is Russia. It has always been Russia and it will always be Russia. Geography is destiny.
1
Based on what exactly?
1
@franknwogu4911 Both can be true at the same time. American military equipment is excellent but at the same time the guy's point that the defense industry is also at the same time a scam to relieve the middle class of their money is true.
1
@farzana6676 I think I should be saying "we." Not some dude named Farzana Patel. Last I checked Indians weren't making SkyGuardian. You're probably here though so as long as you aren't defecating in people's backyards, all is good.
1
@farzana6676 I hoped you were smart enough to figure that out all on your own Mr. Patel. My apologies for being mistaken.
1
@kaz9242 As long as he doesn't migrate to my country and defecate in my backyard I'm happy.
1
@Sapphi Iran and Syria don't have the S-400. What in the world are you talking about. Israeli and Turkish drones were used by Azerbaijan in a war. They preferred the Turkish attack drones over the Israeli ones but preferred the Israeli kamakazi drones over the Turkish ones. Israel's attack drones are far too expensive for the quality and operational flexibility they provide. Few nations will want them.
1
@acidtechno8545 If you feel that confident you can deter your neighbor, more power to you. That is actually good news, maybe you can relay this strategic thinking to the government of Greece. Perhaps understanding this overwhelming advantage will stop them from trying to drag every capital with a military into the conflict to defend them. Obviously with everything you've been saying that isn't necessary, seems like you know more than they do.
1
@acidtechno8545 I highly doubt Turkey has any intention of "invading mainland Greece." Even if they did, they don't have the capability to do so without massive losses, the geography itself causes intense problems for them. They can't take the land route because it is narrow and mountainous nor do they have thousands of landing ships along with the logistics it would take to make an amphibious landing on mainland Greece. Good luck explaining geography and how it affects war to those wide eyed nationalist neighbors of yours who seem to parrot the phrase "we'll be in Athens in 5 days." With that said I'd imagine they'd like those islands extremely close to their coast, I can't say I blame them as Greece is using those islands as weapons against them. If you think Greece has the military capability to stop them from taking those islands a few miles off their shore you're even more delusional than those wide eyed neighbors of yours who think they'll be in Athens in 5 days. They don't take those islands not because they're afraid of Greece military reprisals but more so due to the entire internationally community coming down hard on them. Once that situation changes and they feel they can get away with it, they're going to do it. This isn't a matter of if, its' a matter of when. Especially if Greece continues to try to weaponize those islands. For all the bombastic talk of both sides this is the reality of the situation. I'd imagine in the early 1970s there were plenty of Greeks like you claiming if Turkey invaded Cyprus they'd pay a dear price, they'd be destroyed so and on so forth. This type of thinking generally leads to nothing but disaster for the side which miscalculates. I'm going to be brutally honest and say I really don't give a rats ass if they take your islands or if they don't. My biggest worry is my country and our insane establishment politicians who are looking for any excuse to enter any conflict. Especially now with the crazies back in charge with Biden winning (stealing) the election. The people want no part in this, so again please tell your politicians to stop sabre rattling and then trying to get our government to use our tax money and our boys to protect you.
1
@acidtechno8545 Not the biggest fan of Trump but you know what I was a fan of? It was the first time in my lifetime we went 4 years without randomly destroying a nation for no good reason while spending billions and billions of tax payer dollars and having our neighbors sons either die or come home wounded. I'm not sure how destroying Afghanistan beyond repair, destroying Iraq beyond repair, pushing a civil war in Syria and destroying Syria then destroying Libya for no good reason helped the American people. So you can complain all you want about your petty interests and have emotional meltdowns about some dude named Erdogan. But from our point of view, not getting into all these wars is a good thing, not destroying random nations over and over again is a good thing. Now we have another establishment guy in the white house, they're looking for a conflict to get involved in. I'm guessing Greece's aggressiveness toward her neighbor will give them the perfect excuse. You better hope they join on your side but with these globalists you never know.
1
@giatiexwkanali2750 You don't need to be an ethnicity to be a nation. Can you tell me how long the "American" ethnicity has been around? According to your logic we shouldn't exist either, yet we're so far ahead of you guys that your people migrate here for a better life. So relax with your insanity.
1
@Lord Lee, Are you claiming the American defense industry doesn't need international sales to "recoup" it's investment? Seriously?
1
@emregalata2550 Maybe Toys R Us went bankrupt because they were selling cheap Iranian drones lol
1
@bertrandmarion1927 Against Russian equipment you mean. Apparently it counts enough that nations are lining up to buy this thing.
1
@archerc3811 That's an interesting bit of information I was not aware of, I would have bet a lot of money the wing loong being so high tech would have cost a lot more than that. Thank you for sharing. :O)
1
@archerc3811 Instead of taking your word for it I did a little research. No a useable fully equipped Wing Loong doesn't cost 1.5 million. You missed a decimal point. its' 15 million. Also nations buying the TB2 over the Wing Loong aren't doing so to "make America happy." Unless your contention is that for some odd reason America wants people to buy the TB2 which certainly isn't true. If so they wouldn't have embaroged the parts to build it. The UAE on the other hand is a horrible nation to use as an example of purchasing military equipment at a cost/utility factor. They literally buy weapons from EVERYONE, it's basically a bribe to keep good relations. It isn't like they have the ability to use any of this equipment.
1
@archerc3811 Not sure what that has to do with which drones they're buying. Btw if those modern SAMs are Russian Serbia would be smart to scrap them now. They've been shown useless on a few proxy battlefields. I've seen them destroyed in Libya, Syria and in Nagorno Karabakh. Fact of the matter is if Serbia wants drones they have no choice but to get the Wing Loong. America won't sell them drones (Serbia can't afford that tech anyway) and Turkey probably wont' sell them drones either. Russia can't make drones so Serbia's only real option is China.
1
@archerc3811 Again, how does that change the fact Serbia was forced into buying Chinese drones? lol How about trying to debate what is being debated instead of oddly changing the topic every time lol
1
@archerc3811 Russia's drones are so bad even the Russian military has been complaining about not having "proper drones" to use. What in the world are you talking about. As far as Russian air systems being effective on Syria, you might want to take a quick look at the thousands of youtube clips of them being blown up like sitting ducks. Why do you think people stopped buying them. Drones have made Russian air defense systems irrelevant except for perhaps the S-400 which a poor country like Serbia probably can't afford anyway.
1
The drones showed their effectiveness more in Libya and Syria. In Libya they were basically up against Russian mercenaries and forces armed to the teeth by France, Russia and the UAE. In Syria they destroyed Syrian units which were under command and control of the Russian military. Armenia is the least example, even though Armenia had tons of Russian equipment, it was the Armenians themselves using this equipment and good equipment is useless in the hands of untrained forces.
1
@Nce Gyz, the Akinci as far as we know didn't fly any missions in Karabakh. It was mostly the TB2 which everyone saw on youtube destroying all those tanks.
1
I'd imagine him going or not going will be up to the voters in that country no? Nations don't pick their leaders based on your feelings.
1
@Overlord, you mean Greece wants to use a bunch of tiny islands to landlock her neighbor. That's a mighty aggressive move to take on a neighbor with a huge coastline on a body of water. I'd imagine said neighbor is hoping skipping mad about this.
1
@Anatonio I'd imagine the Turks can also say all their naval exercises have been "near" a piece of their territory and not a provocation either. Fact of the matter is the opinions of the two sides of the matter are too far apart. In the long term they're probably going to have to settle this the old fashioned way. A short naval engagement where one side wins.
1
@Uri Abraham, The Turkish drones are nowhere near on technological par with their American counterparts. However when you add price/utility into the equation they make a lot more sense. You can buy roughly 50 TBs for the price of 1 Reaper. 50Tb2s are vastly superior to 1 Reaper. This equation might make it easier to understand why nations are lining up to buy this thing.
1
@МладиГангстер Turkey probably gave Kosovo really good financial terms. In fact I would not be surprise if they worked out a deal where Kosovo buys the drones and then Turkey reinvests that money back into Kosovo or outright gives them a grant in the same amount.
1
@MegaDonlemon I apologize if I am looking at the situation rationally. I understand your emotions don't like to see such things.
1
@MegaDonlemon I'd imagine you're a lot more likely to be related to a Mehmet than me. You are nearly genetically identical to indigenous Anatolians who make up nearly 80% of Turkey's gene pool no? I'd imagine it's that small admixture of the other 20% they have which gives them the upper hand over you, who knows.
1
@firstlast9626 You do realize the island was invaded to stop ethnic cleansing right? This was one of the few ethnic cleansing attempts in history which is impossible to deny. The Greek Cypriot leadership wasn't very shy to make public statements about their intention to wipe out a small ethnic group on the island.
1
@user-lc7jy4jd4y No one said Turkey's army wasn't the second largest in Nato. Try debating what was actually said instead of creating a strawman and debating a ghost.
1
@user-lc7jy4jd4y Again no one is arguing that isn't true. How insane are you? Maybe it's a language thing and your English isn't good enough to understand what is being said, I'll try your language. Harbiden manyaksin..
1
@talha6852 I always found that so strange considering I'm actually pro Turkiye, I really like that country. I vacation there all the time, we're even considering moving there. I just find it ridiculous when people call it a military super power. You simply cannot be a military superpower without a massive blue water navy which Turkey doesn't have and frankly doesn't want or need.
1
@wankawanka3053 Not "at best" It's a regional power, a very strong regional power, PERIOD. Not "at best."
1
@Piero B, You'll never really have the type of democracy you want in that country. Not until you make inbreeding illegal and wait about 100 years for the genetic damage inbreeding in the eastern part of your nation has done to your gene pool.
1
@MicroTrivia Nothing racist against biological facts. Inbreeding isn't a racial trait, it's something anyone can do and win the lottery of genetically damaged offspring. Farms don't inbreed their cows because after a few generations the cows have massive genetic defects. Dog breeders don't inbreed their dogs because after a few generations their dogs display neurotic and dangerous behavior. This literally applies for every single biological organism known to man. It blows my mind that people assume this doesn't apply to humans and still continue this insane tradition. :O( I'd imagine if a study was done on people in insane asylums or a study on rapists in Turkey, you'd see a huge correlation between those behaviors and inbreeding in people's family tree. My wife and I were in Turkey about 4 years ago and decided to visit inner Anatolia. While in a city called Konya I told my wife a massive percentage of that city was inbred, she obviously didn't believe me. So to prove my point I'd politely in a roundabout way ask people if inbreeding is a thing in their family. Literally 90 percent of the people I asked said yes. The funniest one being the taxi driver who told me he moved to Konya because his uncle promised him he could marry his cousin and then reneged on the promise. He called his uncle a "serefsiz" 🤣 Hilarious and terrifying at the same time. I love your country my man but the sheer amount of inbred lunatics makes it frightening.
1
