@WarLord10 it was fairly obvious who this guy is and what he was in the presentation no? Remember in the cosmopolitan life of the region back then one’s ethnicity didn’t matter as much as it does today. You’re literally doing what this philosopher was talking about when referring to the superficialness of fixating on his physical particularities. I doubt Ibn Khaldun put as much emphasis on his ethnicity as you’d like him too. But again he lived in a different time with a much different mindset.

@ryad1281 someone from a civilization in free fall would say or think something like that. Makes sense according to what that ancient philosopher was saying.
