I find this region of the world absolutely fascinating. They're literally the least homogeneous people on the entire planet yet at the same time the most nationalistic and ethnocentric. I love seeing videos of a Serb finding out he is a Bosnian, A Greek finding out he's a Turk, a Turk finding out he's Armenian or an Albanian finding out he is a Serb. Good stuff.

@Giannis_Sarafis Yes, it's called evolutionary biology. It's about as real as gravity.

@Giannis_Sarafis Genes play a larger role in behavior than you'd think.

@ThreeLions, If you're Estonian you'll probably just be mostly Russian.
4
@Nyctophile, People from that region often remind me of gender studies students and social justice warriors in America. Ready to be offended at anything at the drop of a hat lol
4
@Saif AG, A lot of people in North Africa and the Levant have high percentage of French. French soldiers and officers raped a lot of women during those brutal occupations. Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon. All have high concentration of French DNA markers.
3
@patternrecon5271 Not sure what that has to do with modern people in these countries having one grand parent be a French officer. Don't debate like a cultural marxist my man, try to be rational and stay on topic.
3
@patternrecon5271 Wow what a fantastic argument lol
3
@songcramp66 Probably more insecure than you realize. But then again are there any groups of people in that entire region who aren't emotional train wrecks?
3
@Giannis_Sarafis Your genes play a much larger role in your behavior and instincts than you'd like to think.
2
@nikosn.9932 I had a Greek neighbor of mine take a DNA test. He was like 60% Ethopian lol You can imagine the level of shock he was in.
2
@Fantabiscuit Everyone has emotions, not everyone is able to control them. When they overwhelm your reason and logic, you have a problem.
2
@Georg7Jurgen How exactly is visiting a place akin to supporting an ethnic group?
2
@Namburiadityasairam2605 Which is kind of odd if you think about it. Serbs and Bosnians are essentially the same ethnic group. The difference being one is orthodox and the other is Muslim. Hell you can even throw the Croats into this boat as well, as they too are the same ethnicity but are Catholic.

Dude your sense of humor is outright amazing. Great video to watch. Now I'm going to go through the comments section to watch the Eastern Europeans absolutely lose their minds.

@ousarlxsfjsbvbg8588 I'd imagine it depends on which Turks you ask. You'd have to live there to understand how god damned complex that place is. It takes well over 2 years for a foreigner to even begin to understand wtf is going on lol
1
AM Lightspeedy I guess you don't know what homogenous means. Have you ever looked at the history of the Balkans or their gene pool? This place has been like a interstate highway for literally almost every single invasion army in world history. The people are so mixed with each other it's not even funny.
1
@DrRiq No dude they're not. It is one of the most ethnically diverse places on the planet. They have well over 100 different ethnic groups. They claim to be Turkic yet the DNA and ethnic makeup of the nation is only about 13% of that. They are the opposite of homogenous.
1
@majdavojnikovic I've made a lot of different comments on this thread. What is it you'd like me to explain exactly?
1
@majdavojnikovic Just pointing out a biological fact. Genes influence the behavior of all living organisms including humans. Where do you think instincts come from? Why do dogs bark?
1
@nikosn.9932 I also like the ones with Greeks finding out they're Arabs or Africans. Almost as satisfying to see as Turks finding out they're Greek.
1
@Fantabiscuit Emotional eastern European on our hands here?
1
@Testa Del Computer, Are you lazy and cowardly?
1
@Georg7Jurgen We're not debating the video, we're debating what people here on the threads are saying.
1
@songcramp66 You'd be close but you'd lose that money.
