@Memory, there is no place on earth where the Russian army enters and then leaves when their mandate runs out. Even the Azeris understand the Russians won't be leaving so easily after 5 years. These are for all intents and purposes permanent military bases from the Russian prospective. Russia got what it wanted. Not that I can truly blame them for doing so either considering Nato has been slowly creeping up on their borders for 20 years. I can imagine what a nightmare losing the Caucasus to Nato would be for Russia's strategic defense.

@Soundcloud765 It's not in their interests to leave. If I were them I wouldn't leave either. They won't leave so easily. It's good for the Russians bad for the Azeris and Armenians.

I think it's more a case of projection, the assumption being everyone else is as racist as them and would actually be willing to let young men die to stop this? Who knows. Like you said as an American this doesn't affect my life in any way, shape or form. Aside from being so intrigued by wars I like to learn as much about them as possible. Our crazy establishment government who is so obsessed with geo political positioning probably finds this Turkic Arc stretching from Europe to Central Asia as a net plus for American interests as that specific arc they mention pretty much encircles Russia.

@ivan-vi8kg I do agree with you that Nato constantly does terrible things. But oddly their actions in Serbia where Nato actually did the right thing. Rare situation but it stopped a massive ethnic cleansing campaign and possibly saved millions from being slaughtered. So yea, I'm no fan of Nato and the insane things they do but their actions in Serbia was that one time Nato worked how it's supposed to work.

@TimurtheElephantslayer To be fair that many people don't simply up and vanish into thin air. There is something there. With that said not many people these days will be pushing too hard for it's recognition. I find it strange that we're expected to push for recognition of what happened over 100 years ago while Armenia won't even accept what they did 850,000 Azeris when I was in middle school. The moment they recognize that and pay reparations to the Azeris we'll put recognition of the Armenian genocide back on the table. It's a strange world we live in.

@DonesdeMotivacion It's honestly hard to know what is really going on over there. The amount of fake news being thrown out by both sides is quite obvious. The only ones I really believe are the ones with live footage. You see a lot of insane numbers being thrown around on all sides about lost machinery, tanks and how many soldiers died.

@Scottodhonnchu5034, Arab states had growing ties with Israel until this recent realignment. I'd imagine all of them except Jordan are either going to put that growth on pause or start rolling back the ties. The Iran and Saudi Arabia reproachment changed everything.

More people would have died and Azerbaijan would have lost the one biggest moral high ground they recently attained. When Armenia invaded this region in the 1990s massive amounts of civilians were slaughtered. When Azerbaijan invaded last year only a few dozen civilians died during the entire war. If they did what you say you wanted them to do, a lot of civilians would have died and again they would have lost that moral high ground they now have.

@abadairshi To be fair all nations and blocks run double standard foreign policy. I can't think of one nation which doesn't. What grinds my gears though is when any nation or block goes out of their way to make it seem like their policy is rule based when it isn't.

To be fair the Azeris have been offering status for Nagorno-Karabakh in a negotiated settlement for 30 years. I think if you're unwilling to negotiate, force a situation to be resolved through war and lose said war. At no time in human history will you ever get the same terms offered before the war. The only way I see any sort of status for NK is if the Russians heavily lean on the Azeris in favor of the Armenians. Other than that, it's quite impossible. The losing side in a war is never in a position to dictate terms.

@wlee9888 Same here, I'm an American who spent considerable amounts of time in that country. The way things are framed are sometimes so detached from reality it makes my head spin. Not just Turkey though, that is simply the nature of our globalist media. You use them as a source for most issues around the globe you'll be fed some rather strange narratives, highlighting some facts but leaving out some very big ones. Watching the media coverage on the Ukraine war reminds me of this. So a lot of these analysis videos on youtube are done in good faith, the issue arises due to the narratives they're fed by the vast majority of sources controlled by the globalist cabal. You rarely walk away from it thinking you learned something new, it's essentially half truths. As many of said, we live in a post truth era. Narratives matter more than reality. Many people I talk to about Turkey here in the west simply don't understand how deep Turkey's anger really goes. I'll hear things like "oh we if we XYZ we'll bring them back in the fold." And I'm like "nope, they'll never really join the fold ever again."

@Steve Calderbank, They actually sold weapons to the side that was ethnically cleansed in the 1990s. You might want to do a little research before delving into the "he said she said" that you heard from your wife.

@navysteve95 You didn't misspeak about Israel selling weapons to Azerbaijan. But you did draw a fairly insane correlation. Jews being the victims of a vicious ethnic cleansing campaign, it would make sense that they'd back the side (the Azeris) who were the victims of a brutal ethnic cleansing campaign in the 1990s which started this war in the first place.

@navysteve95 I'm not interested in who claims what, or your subjective view of who should have what. The facts here are extremely clear. Armenia invades their neighbor's internationally recognized territory in the 1990s and brutally ethnically cleanses 800,000 people. Few conflicts are ever really this cut and dry. To rationalize this behavior is to rationalize mass slaughter. It's almost like someone trying to make an argument that the Nazis weren't that bad in what they did. As far as "revenge" and people calling for it. Lets compare and contrast facts. Again Armenia invades Nagorno Karabakh in the 1990s and 800,000 civilians are ethnically cleansed. Azerbaijan invades Nagorno Karabakh last year and less than 2 dozen civilians die. Come on man, don't be that guy.

@augustazoe2844 Wow you sound oddly just like the Turks when they're denying the ethnic cleansing of Armenians in the early 1900s. Do ethnic cleansing deniers have some sort of guidebook they all follow? As far as Azeri state propaganda, I doubt anyone outside that country has been exposed to such things, who can even name an Azeri news outlet? Do any even exist? I'm not too interested in the Azeri or Armenian "version" of events. My premise is simple, there were 800,000 Azeris living in a specific region, Armenia invades and now there are 0 Azeris living in that place. Did they all simply up and vanish into thin air? Is that what we're supposed to believe?

@Timur Sayfullah Generally all empires have a lot of blood on their hands. However I will agree with you that none of them have been as prolific as the Russians in slaughtering civilians like the Russians. They must hold some kind of world record. It's not only that, it actually gets worse. All over the world people have been occupied but generally tend to recover. For some odd reason any place that has been unfortunate enough to experience Russian influence stagnates and never fully recovers socially, economically or politically. Lets take a small example of a place which was only under Russian influence for a few decades. The Germans are known to be some of the most productive people on the planet. Yet after being under Russian occupation for a few decades something happened to the east Germans. To this day they're being out produced by the west Germans on a 8-1 ratio which is kind of insane if you think about it. Now imagine what happens to societies who have been under Russian influence for not decades but 100s of years. I'm not sure what Russian influence does to societies but it feels like they're injected with an incurable disease that they can't seem to recover from. Stagnation and misery is all you really get. Which is why I was sad to see more Russian influence and troops moving into Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan of late. This can't be good for those poor people.
