AAAA good ol inflation, that hidden tax that kills the middle class. Good bye long term American economics welcome eastern European style economics. In 40 years our kids are going to be paying 500 dollars for a loaf of bread.
28
@coreyowens4201 Yes all while our grandchildren will be living in poverty under an authoritarian regime.
16
@Woeisme2 We'll see how this "modern monetary theory" works out going forward. I'd imagine it isn't going to be pretty. There are certain rules almost gravity like, if you do certain things you're not going to be able walk away from the consequences. Modern economic theory is basically just a way to put off that consequence.
15
@emilyc8262 No, I made a pun about how bad things have gotten because anyone who speaks out the truth is attacked by the media and has their lives ruined. No wonder we're in the condition we're in. If there are people out there who can't seem to understand a simple sarcastic comment agreeing with them, we're in a lot of trouble aren't we?
13
@Emily C, be very careful they might hunt you down for making a comment like that and ruin your life.

@meyer5258 It's funny how much the establishment has figured out how to play on people's emotions. First they got the right wingers to back the insane war in Iraq. Then they got the left wingers to back Obama and his insane policy of destroying Libya and Syria for literally no logical reason that could be in line with the interests of the average American citizen. They've done a hell of a job getting what they want using both sides. With Trump, well he kind of ruined their party but they found a way to get rid of him, back to their good times. I wonder which third world nation will be destroyed for no good reason next.

Wars have been started for less. If the Saudis do this, this is an event that will be talked about historians for a very long time. Once one nation does it, the odds of a smallball effect become great. So the question is, what happens to America if the dollar is no longer the world's reserve currency? Can our government actually balance their budget like most other nations have to? If they do, will we have a revolution considering the standard of living most of us Americans are used to? I'm not to keen on becoming much poorer overnight. But at the same time our insane leaders have put us down this path using the dollar and sanctions as a weapon for so long. It's only a matter of time before nations take that stick out of our hands.
8
They'll blame on something else, maybe Trump maybe the Corona virus. Hell as a populace we're so gullible they can say unicorns did it and if they say it enough we'll believe it. Or worse they'll tell us inflation doesn't exist and even though we'll be paying 10 dollars for a loaf of bread we'll still believe them lol
6
@emilyc8262 The fact you still don't realize I was agreeing with you has me in stiches lol
5
@americansweetheart5597 You claiming the Palestinians are on "foreign territory." Seriously?
5
@emilyc8262 I think you missed the point I was making. It just kind of flew over your head didn't it.
4
@Island Guy, we're already a high polarized society, hyper inflation could set forth a chain of events that would destabilize this nation for a very long time. It's terrifying. All for what? So our globalist leaders could feel powerful pushing everyone around for a few decades? Certainly wasn't worth it.
3
@Michael Rice, So basically you're saying the rape victim started the violence by scratching the rapist? I guess your premise is that she should have simply laid down and taken it? Insane point of view my friend.

@meyer5258 I was crying foul 20 years ago and have been doing so since. I cried foul when we invaded Iraq and spent hundreds of billions and the conservatives attacked me. I cried foul when Obama and Hillary destroyed Libya for no good reason and created a really horrible migrant crisis and the liberals attacked me. I cried foul every time we passed insane spending budgets and I was called unpatriotic. I cried foul when the media was egging on rioting and looting and was called a racist. I cried foul when our relations with most the world becomes strained when we completely shield Israel from her crimes, not to mention the billions of hard earned dollars we hand over to them for no apparent reason every year. I was called an anti-semite. I cried foul when equality of opportunity ceased to exist and equality of outcome became a thing. I was called a racist, an elitist, white supremacist, a misogynist and any other made up phrase you can think of. I cried foul when the entire establishment made a concerted effort to make sure one guy doesn't get elected(Trump) and said this can't be healthy for democracy. I was called a deplorable. There are probably items above which you would have called me those things as well. What people don't realize is that the establishment has both the liberals and conservatives in their pocket and they don't even know it. By the time people started figuring out what was going on, right around the time Trump got elected. It was already too late. Sorry for the long reply but I've also given up on conservatives. When the time comes you too will go to bat for the people you claim you're fighting against.
3
@Jason Dima, they'd never allow it. And if they were to allow it one day after crazy demand for it, it would only be done after they know the 3rd party candidate is "on their team." They do not want another Trump or anyone else who won't play by their rules
2
@Chrtistofono Brown, for as long as they can continue printing money and using our military to force everyone to trade in dollars. The day foreign nations stop using the dollar as the reserve currency of the world, party is over. The dollar crashes and we all starve.
2
@relaxedmuffin3666 I'm not French but I did like that jab you took at the French and their military prowess. lol
2
@rez1525 The more we keep using the dollar as a weapon the more other nations will start to ween themselves off it. These sanctions in the long term are going to end up hurting us more than anyone else. The dollar should not be used as a weapon, ever.
2
@jasonw3055 If nations started "dumping" the dollar the chain reaction would be so fast I'm not sure the markets and government would be able to react fast enough. In a weeks time bread would cost like 90 dollars a loaf. Basically economic Armageddon for us.
2
@dragonlordskator I'm afraid that is now a possibility. :O( The level of polarization is getting to maddening levels and the media is trying to pour fuel on the fire.
2
@cosmichef75 Land yes but considering how prices of skyrocketed I'm not so sure. Maybe buying land in developing nations with population booms. But that brings without an entire host of other problems and risks. All in all we're screwed. If we're not screwed than our children are screwed. This show isn't going to go on forever, not with the types of leaders we've been producing for the past 30 years.
2
@skreyao4898 China certainly doesn't have the logistics to fight a war in the middle east nor the intention to do so. But everything you said about who buys how much oil from Saudi Arabia is true. But this idea that China will military intervene to protect Saudi Arabia is lunacy. Even the Chinese would laugh at you for making such a ridiculous statement.
2
To be fair it was never a good luck for America to be that close to the world's most evil regime. I'm not exactly sure what the Saudis are counting on here, without American protection they're sitting ducks as they simply don't have the ability to defend themselves. Are they banking on Chinese influence over Iran to stop hostilities? Are they patching up ties with Turkey which will defend them against Iran? Only 3 things can stop Iran from attacking Saudi Arabia long term. 1.American protection 2. Chinese pressure on Iran 3. Bribing Turkey into supplying the protection. Who knows what they're thinking.
2
@Saudi Arabia, is not the leader of the middle east.
2
@Sal None of the above really. According to most polls Saudi Arabia is the most hated Muslim nation in the Muslim world, second to Iran. Not saying it should or shouldn't be, that isn't up to me. Just simply stating what is.
2
@Sal Yes it is about politics and in politics it's hard to be the leader of a group of people who despise you more than anything else. The hate the world has for the United States is nowhere near the hate Muslims have for Saudi Arabia. Even if it had that kind of hate, the United States can military dominate nations into obeying them. Saudi Arabia is one of the weakest nations militarily it cannot even dominate a poor little nation like Yemen. By any metric you decide to measure this by, Saudi Arabia is not the leader in the middle east or the Muslim world. It's simply a nation sitting on huge reserves of oil which it obviously hasn't managed very well considering the position the nation has put itself in. In all honesty I don't see this country existing in 100 years.
2
@KennyDunk, what would that change? The establishment is fully in charge they don't really care if it's Biden or some other front man/woman in that seat. In fact they'd use the event to grab even more power.
2
@kennydunk Yea but that isn't the way to go about it. Biden or not, I'd be extremely sad if a sitting president were killed like Kennedy. It would be proof of just how far we've fallen as a society and what a terrible state our democracy is in. More so than the president we need to engage more with our local democracy and our local politics. Our Governors and mayors are passing some insane laws while we sleep. Get involved, get the vote out, spread awareness.
2
@Ahmed Patel, that is outright impossible there.
1
@jadcock1023. So your contention that laws pertaining to crimes against humanity dont' matter if a group of people live in an area that someone doesn't consider a "state" According to your logic could I go to Puerto Rico and start murdering 20,000 children and claim it's fine because it isn't really a state? Do you not realize how insane your argument is? What in the world would make you think this is a good argument before hitting "post." The pro Apartheid/Genocide/Israel crowd has really grown delusionally ridiculous of late. Please try to formulate arguments that don't make you come off as a deranged lunatic next time.
1
I wish they were just tax and spend. It's more like tax (wait that wasn't enough), borrow (wait that isn't enough) print print print okay we have enough.
1
Except most of them have been there for like 5 generations. Most ended up there after the French genocide of 2 million Algerians in the 1940s. They seem to have more respect for France than France had for Algeria. If they showed the same respect as France does, 2 million Frenchmen would be dead.
1
@AdamRud, it won't get that bad because we'll use our military to bully other nations into conducting trade in American dollars. That generally keeps demand very high and shields the dollar from hyper inflation that every other nation in history has faced when they print like we do. We are going to feel the pain this time though, even with the entire planet being blackmailed into using the dollar, it still won't be enough to offset the insane amount of money we printed these past two years. We'll feel the inflation and it will be painful but it won't be hyper inflation. We won't see hyper inflation until our military isn't overwhelmingly more powerful than the rest of the world.
1
Yes imagine believing people who are stuffed into the world's only concentration camp.
1
Be smart and leave the country, it's going to turn into chaos.
1
@dragonlordskator 28 trillion? It's A LOT more than that.
1
@tonylee9363 Russia doesn't really have a way to get it's oil to China when the northern seas are frozen. At least not without significant shipping costs. It will take a long time for Russia and China to build the infrastructure needed to get a large portion of Russian energy supplies into China with cost efficiency. Right now though it looks like they're probably going to start building it.
1
@Kevin Sanders, they'll spend a lot more on foreign wars, aka bombing a bunch of poor people in a third world nation which did nothing to us.
1
@pchor125 That nation is hardly democratic. Why do you think every single segment of society at one time or another has had a nasty protest against the authoritarian regime in Paris? I agree with the first person's post, international action must be taken to protect the rights of people who are being suppressed and brutalized by the regime. Perhaps a military operation like in Libya in 2014 should be undertaken in France to protect the protestors.
1
Regime change in Paris on the way?
1
@rickcaldwell2862 Yes but they haven't printed nearly 50% of all Yuan in existence in the past year either.
1
@cosmichef75 I'm not sure we're in a position to invade Saudi Arabia right now like we were when we invaded Iraq and destroyed Libya for the same reason. Once one nation does it and gets away with it, which in this case it looks like it might happen. The floodgates will open. If I see a few nations do it, I'm exchanging everything for bitcoin lol
1
@Re.ei12i In many ways Saudi Arabia is quite a bit weaker than Iraq and Libya were. Militarily they would be easier to invade. You talk about the Muslim word's reaction but the blowback from Muslims would be a lot less than it was with Iraq. Most Muslims worldwide hate Saudi Arabia with a passion. Saudi Arabia won't be invaded not because of anything you mentioned but because we're simply not in a position to be invading countries right now. Russia is moving into Europe and China is expanding their influence in the Pacific. We're stretched way too thin to be occupying another country like we did with Iraq. Not to mention that it won't be as easy to get popular support at home for such an adventure considering how the last few turned out.
1
@Re.ei12i Again you're talking about military deterrence from Saudi Arabia, it's outright ridiculous. Militarily speaking, forget America which is a global power, any mid level nation would be able to defeat Saudi Arabia without much trouble. The Saudis also know this, which is why they're always looking for a patron to protect them.
1
@Re.ei12i Not sure how that changes anything I've said.
1
@Re.ei12i Again not sure how that changes anything I've said. Is this seriously how you try to debate an issue? Like an emotional 12 year old girl? I'd imagine it might be all the inbreeding you guys do, the genetic damage it does perhaps leads to less reason and more emotion? Who knows.
1
@Re.ei12i Not sure what Saudi Arabia being militarily weak has to do with Afghanistan. Good luck explaining that one.
1
@Re.ei12i Yes Biden is wretched but it sill doesn't change the fact that everything I said earlier which seemed to trigger you is all true. Also where on earth have you seen someone weak who is in need of protection having their hand kissed by the person protecting them? Saudi Arabia as I articulated earlier needs protection. Either it will kiss Biden's hand (which Biden won't even offer to be kissed). It will kiss China's hand hoping for protection. Or it will have to kiss Erdogan's hand hoping for protection. One of these three things have to happen for Saudi Arabia to survive.
1
@Re.ei12i No, like most leaders he went there to influence their decisions. Besides no one really cares where the prime minister of England goes. They've lost most of their international prestige and power. The view of how the world works is literally like 3000 years old.
1
@Re.ei12i Yea you were the Umayyad State. Then your people started to inbreed at insane rates and the genetic damage it caused put you in a position where any group that showed up in that region rolled over you like grass. Mongols walked over you like grass. Then the Turks showed up and rolled over you like grass. Then the English showed up and rolled over you like grass. Who ever shows up next will do the same. Which is why Saudi Arabia knows it needs to use it's oil money to buy protection. So yes I'm aware of the Cordovian Umayyad State in Spain, I probably know more about it than you. The real question is are you aware of the history after that?
