@Ahmet Vefa Koc, yes the government with good or bad policy can speed up inflation or slow it down. But the underlying issue is right there in your post. Until the Turkish people start producing more than they consume, you'll always have this issue looming over your heads.

@Bostonlu Yasar. it would be extremely awkward for Nato to have a member which is financing an armed group which is attacking another Nato member. It would undercut exactly what the entire alliance is about. Protecting each other, not helping attack each other. Sweden even applying is awkward.

@Zaydan Naufal Taiwan won't exist in 10 years. It will probably be part of China. The Chinese are so adamant about this I'm not sure how long they can be held off.

@blank-xs2qs When these smaller and poorer nations are targeted by the globalists for influence, they're doomed. They either become slaves or they are destroyed. Libya, Georgia, Syria, Iraq the list goes on and on and on. Today it's Ukraine to be sacrificed. I wonder who is next. :O( It always starts with protests which are magically funded by billions.

@John Ames, even if half the people in the country wrote, it would make no difference. Our monetary policy a lot like our foreign policy is completely detached from the "public will." We stopped being a democracy decades ago.

@johnames6430 Faith? Don't worry they're in the process of taking that out of society as well. We have no one to blame but ourselves, 20 years ago the people complaining about where this was headed were laughed at.

@yasincivelek8068 He doesn't more power than for example the president of the United States. They call it a presidential system for a reason and last I checked you turns voted for said system. Now unless you are against democracy, I'd imagine you won't have many problems with the system people voted for.

@DibyarupRoy India is also a country where the vast majority of the population still defecate on streets.

@imasupersmartmartian5161 Not sure when they'll feel strong enough to make a move but they're certainly not shy about openly telling the world their intentions.

@Samson Soturian, Seriously dude? Do you know how much reserves you'd have to steal to make a tend in an economy the size of Turkey? You're literally telling me someone stole close to 600 billion dollars overnight and no one noticed? Yes I can imagine things like this happening in micky mouse states with very small economies but what you're saying sounds like insanity in larger economies. Imagine stealing more than half a billion dollars, where exactly would you hide it? Which bank? Or do you think they carried away pallets worth of bills in trucks? Their problem is more systemic. It's a combination of the Turks consuming more than they're producing along with bad monetary policy by the government.

@Dibyarup Roy 0028 It's not the governments job to give people bathrooms. Everywhere else in the world people build their own places to defecate. It isn't a matter of poverty either as even the poorest nations in history have found a way, dig a ditch for god's sake. Also all those toilets they built don't seem to be working as most of the people are still defecating on streets, train tracks and beaches. It's insanity.
1
@Zaydan Naufal Poverty and street defecation are two different things. Most poor nations don't have street defecation problems. Their people even though poor are civilized.

@zzzzz5026 If he manipulates elections why exactly did his party lose the midterm elections? Is it your contention that a corrupt party which can rig elections decided to simply lose the midterm elections? Is that the argument you're making? If so it's a terrible argument.

@nickgreek6449 I'd imagine your government is more likely to start a war than them.
1
@Manvesh Pandey, do you really think it's that simple? You can't possibly be this simple minded. Unless of course you're from Pakistan or India. I've seen enough of those trolls to know how they roll. Logic and reason are the enemy lol
1
@manveshpandey6977 So because you work at the IMF that makes it okay for you to say things which clearly don't make any sense? Imagine some guy telling me the world is flat, when I disagree he says "I work at the IMF." That is two insane statements back to back. People from your part of the world never stop amazing me.
1
@okeykkey This is probably why the Saudi leaders aren't seen as leaders of the Muslim world.

@manveshpandey6977 You might want to read my post again and your response to it.

No, he has this insane idea that raising interest rates causes inflation. Either he has figured out something no one else in the history of economics has been able to figure out, or he is going to send his currency into the toilet.

Real inflation in America is close to 26%. Real inflation in Turkey is close to 59%. Governments love to play with the statistics, it's in their interests to do so.
