Comments by "William Davis" (@williamdavis9562) on "The leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia talk about the prospects for peace in the Caucasus region" video.
I don't think anyone will "force" anyone to live inside a country. That territory is already internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan.

@HarrySinanian To be fair they weren't the ones illegally occupying the internationally recognized territory of another nation. Not to mention they weren't the ones who during the illegal occupation ethnically cleansed 800,000 civilians. Just sayin...

@superturro It's rather rich you're arguing for self determination on behalf of Armenians in that region. What about the self determination of the 800,000 civilians which were brutally ethnically cleansed from those invaded regions in the 1990s? Not important right? Mass slaughter is cool? Fact of the matter is reparations are probably going to have to be paid.

Anyone who is curious knows. It's pretty straight forward too. Armenia illegally invades Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory and ethnically cleanses 800,000 civilians with the help of Russian arms in the 1990s. Azerbaijan tries to negotiate for the return of some of her territory and Armenia refuses to talk. After 30 years of trying to negotiate Azerbaijan gives up and takes military action by pushing out the illegal occupational force from it's territory. That is pretty much it.

@drchelebi It seems you're not understanding how Armenian policy works. When they refuse to honor something they signed it is fine. When someone else refuses in retaliation it is a crime.

Armenia's only real ally in the region is the Islamic Republic of Iran. Even Armenia's Christian neighbor Georgia sides with Azerbaijan. Your argument is quite ridiculous.

@superturro What evidence do you have that these people cannot live as AZ citizens. They quite literally live on a piece of land which is internationally recognize as AZ territory. There really are no two ways about this, especially considering what happened in this region in the 1990s. What you're proposing would set a scary precedent in the world. Just imagine this scenario. You invade a neighboring state's territory where you have people from your ethnic group living there. You slaughter the neighbor's states people and essentially get rid of them all. Then you make the claim that "well X type people live here so that state can no longer control that area." Think about that precedent and how the world would look if this was the norm. International law exists for a reason. Nations have internally accepted borders for a reason. So what exactly is your proposal? That ethnic cleansing be rewarded?
2
@jondo7680 You're right about doing what ever it wants on it's OWN LAND. That is exactly what they've been doing.
2
@Armanio9809. They tried to negotiate with Armenia for 30 years on this issue. It feel on deaf ears. Armenia pushed this to a point of conflict and that is where it is now. I'd imagine until Armenia apologies for the illegal invasion in the 1990s and pays reparations to the surviving family members of the 800,000 civilians it ethnically cleansed. This isn't going to stop.
2
@1302VL So is that what you do? When ever someone doesn't agree with your insane worldview you automatically assume they're from ethnic group X? Forget being an Azeri, I've never even met an Azeri.
2
@Vrej.1 So you're defending the side which illegally invaded their neighbor's internationally recognized territory and ethnically cleansed 800,000 civilians? Seriously? Do you also push old women down staircases and strangle puppies in your spare time?
1
@harmony5807 According to that logic, if we applied it to Armenia. One could simply say Armenia was part of the Ottoman empire. You do see what a ridiculous argument you're making no?
1
What choice do they have when they have a neighbor who recently attacked their territory and ethnically cleansed 800,000 of their civilians?
1
You obviously don't know much about the prevailing mindset in Armenia. They see you as inferior beings who need to be exterminated. And you think you can join forces with them to get rid of the Russians? lol Talk about delusion.
1
@YuriKalutskii This is true, when Armenia starts seeing it's neighbors as actual people change might come. I guess they'd be less likely to invade their neighbors and brutally ethnically cleanse 800,000 civilians if they actually saw them as fellow humans. It will be hard to take that level of hatred and nazi level misplaced feeling of racial superiority out of Armenians. But perhaps it is possible. When they learn to get along with their neighbors peace will come. If they ever learn that is.

@HopefulInterventions I fail to see how that is a rationalization for invading another nation's internationally recognized territory and ethnically cleansing 800,000 civilians. One of the largest ethnic cleansing campaigns on the planet in the last 50 years btw. This is how you rationalize that? By some vague historical claim to a piece of land? Interesting. Fact of the matter is international law tends to hold more weight then your subjective view of what you think should belong to whom.
1
@haykgrigor So you're saying it's okay to invade another nation's internationally recognized territory and ethnically cleanse 800,000 civilians? Is that the argument you're making?
1
@kanabis134 You'd be surprised how many people pay attention to what is going on around the world these days. Especially with the massive amounts of information online. This isn't the 1990s where the media pretty much decides what you're allowed to know. Hell just check the comments sections about any major media outlet covering this story. People are screaming about fake news and how they're presenting false narratives. It isn't as easy to distract or fool people as it used to be.

It wasn't the Azeri parliament which was stormed by angry mobs who believed the government didn't "represent their views." It wasn't their politicians who got lynched in the streets. Get a grip Harry.
1
@1302VL That is why you @ the person you're responding so. So as to avoid this type of confusion.
