@HistoryScope 40 minute video with that few mistakes? It's a job well done my man. Although I'm still laughing at the idea of a castrated army charging a city 🤣🤣

@shaunybonny688 Yea it's just terrible research on the part of the guy who made the video. Imagine a bunch of castrated soldiers storming a castle? Not going to end well.

The Winged Hussars? Seriously?

@Sion Media, What you say applies to the Armenians but certainly doesn't apply to the Greeks. In your equation if you had to make an analogy the Greeks were the Nazis and the people in Anatolia were the Poles. Not a very good analogy but if one had to be made that would be it.

@mertroll1 Bosnians are Slavs, they also have an Ottoman past.

Anyone else click on this video just to watch the emotional meltdowns in the comments section? Any video about the Ottomans seems to attract the most emotional crowd. Entertainment at it's finest.
2
@rawka_7929 Don't see how that affects your life in anyway, shape or form. Not happy about what? Events that took place 700 years ago? lol
2
@eminmerttezcan6120 I think the Russians are number 1 on that list. France number 2 Britain number 3
2
You do realize this video tried to cover over 600 years of events in 37 minutes right? If every single little detail was covered like people want this video would take weeks.

@Error_4x5 Your body stops producing as much testosterone if you're castrated. It's no different with male dogs. Once you fix them they become less aggressive. Last thing any army wants is a bunch of dikless soldiers lol

hiOOxkr magkis A lot of them did die. In the case of the Ottomans they would essentially recruit real young for that specific role because more survived the procedure at a young age than an older age. It's a procedure that's been in use for thousands of years and it's outright terrifying.

@Abigzerolol 🤣

@utonation1 So you're saying because a video is hard to make that everything in it is magically true thus making it a "great video." I think you're doing a fine job of entertaining the rest of us bro. Well played. Keep dancing.

@American_Trekkie I was drinking water when I read this. I spit it up all over my computer. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Vortex3d_ Truth be told I felt bad for ripping him after he commented. It was a good video except for that one hilarious mistake.
1
@benababiodanso2885 lol Seriously?

@Awesomewithaz Both can be true at the same time. I can insult you for having misshaped ears but at the same time it still being true it isn't your fault

@Browninio Browni, I'm an Ottoman history junkie and this video is better than 99% of videos out there. Sure there was some ridiculous stuff in this video like the Jannisaries being castrated but you really can't blame a guy for making a few small mistakes when covering a topic this vast. Overall the guy did a fantastic job. Now if you believe certain things to be not factual, it would make more sense to explain what was incorrect. Maybe we can all learn something? That would be better than simply claiming the video made no sense.

@Ludendorff, when compared to their time they were probably the most tolerant administration on the planet for a few hundred years. Are you literally trying to extrapolate today's norms to events from 100s of years ago? Yea, good luck finding any country, regime or empire that can stand up to that litmus test lol
1
@Nikolas Maillis, I'm not sure invading territory that belonged to you hundreds and hundreds of years ago still isn't an invasion. Imagine the world worked the way you seem to want in to work? There would be about 800 invasions in the world right now that no one would be able to call invasions. According to your logic Russia isn't invading Ukraine right now?

@MrBetabit "current governments may be more concerned may be more concerned about the comments section than the content of the videos." Hmmm interesting reply.

@Napolien, I'm fairly sure the Turks don't blame the Arabs for their downfall, any rational person probably understands the empire fell apart because it stagnated. What they seem to blame the Arabs for (and correct me if I'm wrong) is the Arabs helping the Europeans carve out the entire middle east. Which caused problems we're seeing to this very day. Talk about shooting yourselves in the foot.

37 minute video to cover over 600 years of events. Impossible for every single detail to be covered. If you want something that detailed youtube also has videos which are hours long on the topic. You may find what you're looking for there.

Interesting tidbit of info. Thanks for sharing.

@Epic Lego Warrior, Not gonna lie there are a lot of similarities.
