France flexing it's military muscles against guys throwing rocks at them. Oddly enough they still lost, the Mali government recently kicked France out of Mali.

@krips22 War is simply a tool to meet objectives. So did France meet their objective in Mali or not? Since we're on definitions and how they fit into the scenario. It's obvious you're more than smart enough to understand this simple concept and how it applies to this situation. The problem is your emotions are getting in the way. You're more interested in what you want to be true rather than what is. That's fine.

@tonyhawk94 Cool story bro. Fact of them matter is France is being kicked out of Africa one nation at a time. Which might end up being a really really good thing for the nations of the region in the long term. Post modern colonialism isn't the greatest but it is even worse when you have a weak 3rd rate nation like France as your modern colonizer. You get all the terrible things of colonization without the benefits. The Philippines is also a good example of a nation being colonized in the modern sense. Sure it's not ideal but their colonizer is a first rate nation like America which does bring benefits to the Philippines. Imagine France as their Patron? They'd be fuked. All the negatives and none of the positives. A lot like the situation a lot of African and North African nations find themselves in with France so intertwined in their body politic.

@tonyhawk94 So you're so triggered about France's terrible job at post colonialism that you're trying to switch and narrow the conversation down to Mali? Many people would guess that Mali has all these problems due to their stunted growth with France caused. Either way all this banter wont' change the reality France is being removed. Which the people removing them seem to agree with me that it's in their interest to do so.

@tonyhawk94 And what is the topic of the conversation you seemed to have delved into? While talking about Mali you went down the road that France's influence is a good thing. That is what our specific conversation is about. What that conversation went south because you literally had no way to refute the facts I threw at you. You tried to bring the conversation back to Mali. In trying to show French influence is a good thing in these nations, you're fighting a losing debate.

@krips22 "Lost" means you enter into something with an objective and fail to meet said objective. Like when you start a chess game your objective is to win. If you fail to win you "lost" Is your debate position so weak that you have to do gymnastic sumersaults in trying to change the definitions of words? Seriously? Just take the L and move on.

@edjonas8801 Except when those things are said when the debate is over and the other side is being unreasonable. You can't go from being unreasonable during the debate, to trying to act rational after you made the debate beak down. You do realize how strange that is no?
