Again it is hard for any rational person to argue against what you're saying. It does seem like all power centers of our society are working toward a very specific goal. Authoritarianism can take many forms and socialism can be one of those forms.
But there are reasons I believe socialism is not the end goal, I've learned over the years to never listen to what these people are saying but to watch what they do .
The rhetoric is surely socialism but the actions are not. Lets take the EU as an example who has been at the forefront of this. No nation sliding toward socialism will have income equality skyrocketing. The gap between the super wealthy and everyone else is widening at extraordinary rates. You can see the same trends in Canada and the EU.
Personally I think the end game is power, pure unadulterated power and any rhetoric to pull the wool over the public's eyes to erode the sharing of power in these nations will be used, even socialist rhetoric. All this went into real over drive in the early 2000s first kicking off with a slue of war they wanted and an eroding civil liberties in America. During that time they used the conservatives and conservative talking points to get all that through. Once the winds changed and the public turned against that policy they simply put in a guy with leftist rhetoric who did the same exact things the guy with right wing rhetoric was doing. The Obama administration was nothing more than a continuation of the Bush administration.
The end goal is for a very small group of people to own everything and to decide everything.
I think we're nearing the end of this as this mindset is looking like it will collapse as the rest of the world is turning it's back on the west. This will stop but unfortunately it will destroy the future of an entire civilization before it does.
This Israel/Palestine thing is looking like the canary in the coalmine. The entire planet is aligned against the west on this issue, being that diplomatically isolated is not a place you want to be on the world stage. Rough waters ahead.
Again regardless of what they claim to be. Socialist, liberal, conservative or what ever new label they say they're working under. Watch what they do, not what they say.
