@Coyote, It depends on what is in it for them. Relationships between nations aren't like relationships between people. If the Europeans will be willing to make concessions on certain things, pay top price and be willing to pay in Russian currency. I'm sure the Russians will be happy to start supplying again.

@JJ, Without Nato the EU simply cannot defend itself. The only nations in Nato which are capable of fighting a protracted war also happen to be the Nato nations which aren't in the EU.

@akka fietje, The world isn't as complicated as they make it seem. EU can't defend itself, America defends Europe. So on matters of security they have no choice but to do as they're told.

How did it come to this. Who could have thought that Canada which has been known worldwide as a strong democracy would turn into one of the most autocratic undemocratic regimes in the western world. We can all still pretend Canada is still a liberal democracy where human rights are high on the agenda but reality will eventually rear it's head as it always does.

@Ramin Kazemi, to be fair that Law of the Sea Convention is a massively flawed one size fits all solution which has loopholes because it doesn't take into account many geographical oddities the world has. That Law of the Sea Convention is going to start a war one of these days somewhere. Hell maybe they designed it like on purpose to stoke tensions.

@Richard Not to mention that our invasion of Iraq was the catalyst to Iran wanting a nuke in the first place. It made them nervous and they felt a nuke was the only way to ensure they wouldn't be next.

I'm a big fan of this channel but some things said here are just ridiculous. MBS the most powerful man in this conflict? Really? Saudi Arabia is very influential in times of peace due to their massive wealth. In times of war, they're nearly a non factor. If people think the region is getting together to confront Israel, MBS would essentially be an after thought. He does not control a nation that military which has the operational readiness to really do anything. In times of conflict or potential conflict the regional heavy weights are Israel, Egypt, Iran and Turkey. Saudi Arabia is sidelined right now which is why no one is really paying attention to what they're saying.

@Neil Murray, Brandon isn't in charge of our foreign policy. It's the same foreign policy establishment characters that ran the Bush and Obama foreign policy as well. Are they insane? Yes. The moment Trump got ousted, my fear was war. My fears look like they might come true :O(
