@Taha Ezzahir, Not only were hundreds of thousands of Iraqi murdered during this war, people there still suffer today, in the millions. Children born after this war, to this day have a 27% chance of birth defects. As terrible a toll this has taken on the people of Iraq lets also not forget the young American soldiers who were sent there were victims in all this as well. The sides killing each other weren't really the bad guys. It was the men in suits who sent them there who belong in jail.

"Good guys killing each other while the bad guys shook hands in suits" So simple yet so true.
67
@churblefurbles Libya might have been a bigger crime than both of us instances.
36
@jewel7784 Your average soldier had zero input in the decision to go to war my friend. Also those specific soldiers who took part in those videos belong in jail as well. But this idea that every 18 year old kid sent over there is a criminal is ridiculous. In most cases they were, as I articulated earlier, victims themselves.
13
@Orion Dezine, not they're really not. The population has been so dumbed down they'll simply keep on winning elections. Not saying the Republicans are much better but I've noticed more conservatives calling out their leaders more so than than progressive voters.
9
It was criminal sending you guys there on a pack of lies. We lost a lot of our cherished youngsters there. Not to mention all the dead young Iraqis. The fact no one was held accountable shows the state of affairs in the world.
7
@abcbcacba Again you might want to do a little research on the matter. Especially what the legitimate Kurdish government in North Iraq feels about these "fighters" in Syria.
5
@anigah The establishment has found a way around it. People speaking up found their careers ruined. So we only really have free speech as an abstract thought. But it really doesn't exist on huge issues like war and peace. You either conform or you get hurt.
4
@LimitlessSimpleton To be fair Adam millions dead is hardly "avoiding killing as much as possible." If killing was avoided as much as possible then lies wouldn't have been made up to illegally invade and destroy that nation. Lets try to be a little realistic here. There is quite literally zero justification for any of it.
3
@farzana6676 You should start caring because those policies you call "libtardism" is spreading and it will soon be coming to a community near you.
3
As a conservative we could probably have an entire documentary about how conservative leaders say one thing and do another. Fact of the matter is if you vote for establishment candidates it really doesn't matter if you vote democrat or republican. You'll be fed the same soup.
3
@Trikipum Recoilless gun or artillery. 100KM or 3KM, did you watch the video? They're literally firing random shots with zero line of sight. Considering how densely populated these cities seem to be, what are the odds they aren't hitting civilians or even targeting them? You seem to have zero regard for human life.... poor thing.
3
@Lacking a Face, imagine that. They'd make a real quick u-turn on migration policy. You see they want you to have refugee neighbors and will call you a racist for not wanting it. The same rules don't apply to them though.
3
@Noice The Jetski, Pretty large difference considering the vast majority of Kurds believe the people being killed in this video are terrorists. The Kurds have a legitimate government in northern Iraq who also considers the people being shot in this video to be terrorists. You might want to do a bit of research before making ridiculous claims. If the Russians were killing people whom the Ukrainian government themselves brand as terrorists your analogy would be fit. Except that isn't happening, Russia is actually invading the legitimate government of Ukraine and it's territory.

Don't hold your breathe, this guy probably got fired already lol
2
@aJoats Not going to disagree with you there. I was just making a point that if 90% of democratic political leaders are establishment types 80% of republicans are. Conservatives for one reason or another tend to be more critical of their leaders (not by much) which may account for that small disparity. In the grand scheme of things that different really doesn't matter much and I completely agree with your last post. Until we have a truly independent media that is actually interested in journalism rather than pushing out talking points these problems will persist. The population is simply too dumbed down to expect a majority of them to do their own research or think independently.
2
@yo2trader539 The million dollar question is how did this conflict serve the interests of the American people?
2
@nkyende The crazy part is after all that death and destruction they weren't even able to achieve that. It was a financial mess and a geopolitical mess.
2
Typical terrible human behavior. One set of rules for me..... Different set of rules for everyone else.
1
@Lance Smith, The people who sent our best and brightest youngsters to go fight and die won't let us ask why. Both wars were horrible and Iraq more so could be constituted as crimes against humanity. No one blames the soldiers though, the blame is on the people who sent them there. The blame is also on the media who knowingly peddled false information to get us there. Your average Joe who was there was just as much as a victim as the people of the nation being invaded.
1
@Gerard A, some estimates have the Iraq war and it's after effects killing more than 2 million people.
1
@aJoats It's hard to disagree with much of what you say. All in all we're fuked lol
1
@DerrickSylvesterJamesJr I'm 'not sure anyone claimed that voting for republicans will get democrats what they want or voting for democrats will get republicans what they want. All in all I'm not sure who and what you're arguing against. However there can be extremely small instances where that could happen. If anti war/interventionist democrats had voted Ron Paul, they'd get what they want as far as foreign policy. If anti war/ interventionist republicans had voted Bernie Sanders they'd get what they want. But in a broad sense I don't think anyone would argue for what you seem to be arguing against.
1
@DerrickSylvesterJamesJr Yet you decided to reply to the one guy who didn't state otherwise? Interesting. Also to play devil's advocate your last statement is wrong. Red states have A LOT more affordable housing. Not to mention much lower property taxes which primarily hurt the lower income families more.
1
@DerrickSylvesterJamesJr Slightly blue states is one thing but states which are completely and utterly controlled by democrats is another. If you add that into your equation you'll see what I'm saying. Look at places like New York, New Jersey and California. Can you tell me with a straight face they have anything near affordable housing? I live in New Jersey, I feel so bad for people who work minimum wage because they simply cannot survive.
1
@DerrickSylvesterJamesJr The places which need and lack affordable housing in New Jersey like the larger cities like Camden, Newark, Jersey City and Paterson are all and have been 100% run by leftists for nearly 80 years. No one is complaining about affordable housing in the suburbs where people can afford expensive housing. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it people who have trouble affording housing that the entire premise of affordable housing revolves around? I grew up in Paterson, I might know a thing or two about cities like this in New Jersey. Affordable housing was always a huge issue for us growing up in Paterson. Sadly it's 50x worse now for people still in that situation. So instead of falling on your reflex of protecting your party, it might make more sense to actually care about the issue and the people affected by it. You can't possibly can't be this callus to the suffering of people who aren't as fortunate as you, can you?
1
@DerrickSylvesterJamesJr I wasn't interested in talking about one state. You were the one who threw New Jersey into the mix, not me. As far as defending parties I don't have a party to defend. I was utterly turned off by the republican party since my 20s when I saw the right push insane lies just so we can invade nations. It wasn't until Obama was in office till I realized it wasn't simply a republican problem it was an establishment problem that both parties are involved in.
1
@randybobandy5538 Was staying there for 20 years justified? The war was sold as getting the guys who did 9-11 to nation building and regime change in that country. The second part of it had zero justification.
1
@farzana6676 I can't think of one place on this planet where people are getting more freedoms. Freedoms are eroding everywhere. With that said, in some places it's eroding faster than other places. I'd imagine for the long term legacy western states aren't the place you want to be if you're looking for economic and social freedom in the long term. In 20-30 years eastern European nations, many who were recently communist will probably have more personal freedoms than nations like America, England and France.
1
I love the mainstream media. They pushed this war, pushing the lies of the time on the people. Now over 20 years later they're perhaps thinking it wasn't the best of ideas? I'd imagine there are a few people in the NY Times office who should be prosecuted for pushing false information which led to hundreds and thousands of civilian deaths. I would have loved it if this guy placed the blame of all his troubles on this reporter and the organization they represent.
1
@Listerfiend, The elites surely went too far on that one. They have no idea the irredeemable damage they did in people's trust of our institutions. I still believe there are people who should be in jail for these wars. Not only for the victims of the people being invaded but also for your average patriotic soldier who had to go put his life on the line for some vague interests of people who didn't care about them. Our boys and girls should never be cannon fodder. I lost a few good friends in the Iraq war who signed up with a sense of patriotism and I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive the government and media for what they did.
1
@karifredrikson-lr1mm Your gold rule is truly golden my friend.
1
A lot of it is simple human nature.
1
"Resisting attacks" by aimlessly firing shells into civilian areas. lol New York times........... argggggg
1
@coyotelong4349 They don't act like Republicans. If they did they wouldn't be the only states which don't have affordable housing.
1
@Jascam, I'm sure when the gun was first used guys with swords screamed cowardice. When the first tank entered the battlefield same situation, people screamed cowardice. First airplane attack from the air? Yup you guessed it cowardice. Fact of the matter is if used properly these drones can hit their targets with precision lowering civilian casualties. In the past to stop people like this from shelling civilians (like they were doing in the video) you'd have to level half that block to get them. Which would defeat the purpose since you also would be killing civilians to get them. Drones used properly save lives. Unless you decide to use them like Obama did.

@abcbcacba You're literally claiming the world is flat, giving absolutely zero proof, throwing out a bunch of emotional nonsense and then when someone points out reality you have a meltdown. It's actually kind of surreal to watch. Less emotions, less meltdowns more reason and logic please.
1
@abcbcacba It doesn't take a genius to see when someone ignores all talking points made in a debate and goes straight into an emotional diatribe. So no, no superpower needed to detect the obvious. Just admit this is a really emotional topic for you (for one reason or another) and you're having an extremely difficult time being rational. You literally sound like a 16 year old girl who lost her virginity on prom night in the back of a station wagon and isn't very happy about it. It's kinda sad.
1
@abcbcacba I'd also bet a lot of money you're so angry you're about to smash your computer. As far as hypocrite, throwing words around which don't apply don't help your position in a debate.
1
@abcbcacba You do realize you're the one that opened the topic right? Then had an emotional meltdown when you were corrected. My apologies but this isn't your safe space when you can make insane statements which simply aren't true and expect no one to correct you.
