@JohnZoetebier Every few years they simply change the way they compile the numbers to keep the "official" inflation number lower. If we actually used the same equation we used in the late 1970s, right now inflation is at around 39% in the United States.

@stevieboiike2623 And this is why the rest of the world has a really terrible view of the EU and it's powerful members.

@robinwells8879 The way American bills have been named has been like this for quite some time. Many of those who pay attention have understood for year that what ever they name a policy, it will do the exact opposite of it's name. I would have hoped that Europe too hasn't gone batsh!t crazy but I've come to find out they're even deeper in the rabbit hole than we are. Globalist check mate. We're all fuked lol

@Dimitris Markoulis, Greece is going to get hit much much harder than almost every other European nation. Not only because their economy isn't strong enough to withstand this but also because of the nation's terrible foreign policy. Russia will use any chance to hurt Greece as much as it can now. You guys really do need new leadership. Not only is the economy going to collapse due to insane energy costs this winter but the same government that caused that is stoking tensions with their neighbor which might lead to an armed conflict Greece simply cannot win. You guys need a revolution pronto or things will get very ugly very quickly :O(

A complete collapse of the European Union would not only be good for Europeans it would probably be good for the rest of the globe as well.

The idea that any of this is a "moral" stand is quite simply ridiculous. It's more like moral grandstanding. Sanctions which months and months ago led to the starvation of people in poor nations didn't seem to bother nations like Germany very much while they were doing it. It wasn't a "moral stand' it was the globalists trying to make a powerplay and it failed. Only now that the European public themselves are paying higher prices that action is being taken. When African people were starving because of this 6 months ago no one cared.

Nemusis 999 As if Germany benefits the EU because it isn't in Germany's interest to do so.

@Evan Toutz I think you underestimate the dire situation EU nations find themselves in.
