@DeadKraken Europe can't be energy independent because they don't have enough energy. They have to purchase it.
3
@yuvalgabay1023 So you believe South Africa have stayed an apartheid state? Is that your argument?
3
@GlassyChap, the largest and only internationally recognized Kurdish administration is the government Kurdish regional government in Northern Iraq which has excellent relations with Turkey. It's mostly the insurgent groups Turkey has issues with, not to mention the Kurdish regional government has issues with the same groups as well. Which is why Turkey trains the Kurdish forces of this government to combat these groups. So no, hell hasn't frozen over. Assume your knowledge of events in this region don't come exclusively from CNN which has a nasty habit of pushing through false narratives.
3
@deerajsinghbhau8 Wasn't a rant, I merely pointed it out. And then a bunch of people decided they wanted to have that conversation. I am polite, I will respond to anyone who wishes so. The ranting was mostly people crying about my comment.
3
@rohanthakkar9119 Again if you invented them that long ago, why don't you use them? It makes the situation even worse no?
3
@nishant17285 So why aren't you using them now then?
3
@kuldeepchauhan2806 I don't buy this argument, never did. There are nations 100x poorer than India and their people aren't defecating in the streets. Poverty is not the common denominator here.
3
@Attack On Titan : The Final Season I've seen videos in major cities where people are defecating on the train tracks. As far as it only being village side, that is false but even if true it's still terrible. I've been to villages in Africa 1000x poorer than India. Those people don't randomly defecate anywhere they feel like it. They dig holes in the ground and have designated areas where to "go."
3
@Attack On Titan : The Final Season The point was being made that something can be learned from that nation. My contention is, a nation which hasn't figured out how to dispose of their bodily waste doesn't have much to teach anyone about anything. Especially something vastly more complex than that.
3
James Matthews Not sure what that has to do with people defecating all over the streets lol
3
@stickwatch5163 Some stereotypes are true no?
3
@Sachin Kapse, This is true. Which is why I've always advocated not allowing as many Pakistani and Indian immigrants to come her. That would solve the problem of street defecation in California.
3
@Romeo.G. I'm not sure I'd blame the Greeks so easily. This oddly reminds me of Ukraine, with someone else pulling the strings. Greece to be the sacrificial lamb like Ukraine was. Don't be shocked if this is the next conflict to be flooded by weapons.
3
@chrismavroudis2330 Reuniting the island would be insanity when one side has shown it's willingness to massacre and ethnically cleanse a small minority group on the island. What sort of guarantees would this small vulnerable group have that they won't be massacred again by the majority? Best bet, formalize the partition and let each side go their own way. Only thing that makes sense at this point. The unification ship sailed with ethnic cleansing and massacres.
3
People like Douglas Mcgregor are an amazing resources especially when dealing with a global issue that has more misinformation about it than one can keep track of.
3
@Shawn, lately France has had an amazing ability to always back the wrong horse in international conflicts. Not sure if it's chutzpah or good ol stupidity.
3
@dorianodet8064 Under-discussed because 99% of mainstream media outlets ignore France's crimes in Africa.
3
@SD-SD-SD Have your fingers gotten tired from posting all these troll posts?
3
They prefer to keep their people dumbed down and arguing over nonsense while they play the Empire from starwars.
3
@tomo_xD The line was actually created by a Greek politician. He said in WW2 the Germans came with tanks, in 2010 they came with banks. Either way just because colonization did happen before the advent of tanks, it's still a good line.
3
@TheIfifi I'd imagine you can say the same about a person who is tries to be the arbiter of what is and isn't wisdom and intellect. If I refused to go into a tank filled with alligators you're probably one of those rocket scientists who would say "well not all alligators bite."
3
@sharefactor To be fair he's taken a lot more seriously than Macron who over the past few years has been an international whipping boy. Everywhere the guy turns he gets slapped, literally and figuratively.
2
A country which has the highest inbreeding rates on the planet has turned into a failed state? Hmmm, what took them so long.
2
@benjamindavidovichwaals2899 Comparing Europe's reach during WW1 and WW2 to today is kind of a stretch. Europe's nations were world super powers with global reach around that time. Today they are not.
2
@DeadKraken Humans are nowhere near being at a point where we don't need fossil fuels. Also the idea of Ukraine in the EU is a pipedream, Russia invaded Ukraine in part so that won't happen. Even if Ukraine were in the EU, Ukraine doesn't have enough fossil fuels to make the EU energy independent. Fact of the matter is, EU won't be energy independent.
2
@Constantius, Yes this is all very likely to happen. About as likely as Puerto Rico invading and occupying the United States.
2
It's surreal how France always talks about democracy and human rights while at the same time exploiting the living hell out of these nations and making sure they never have a proper democracy for themselves. In many cases they kill their leaders who don't do France's bidding or fund terrorist organizations to terrorize the governments of those they can't control. It's pure and utter madness and this truth must be taken into the light worldwide. France must be shamed into leaving these nations alone.
2
@Sava.S Making mistakes in history which is relatively recent and might have some connection to today is one thing, it's another thing to harp about something from 2000 years ago which has zero relation to anything today.
2
@rojvankoc7252 The ability to project power makes you a super power. Having nukes isn't enough. North Korea has nukes, no where near a super power. Pakistan has nukes, nowhere near a superpower. Israel has nukes, no where near a superpower. South Africa has nukes, nowhere near a superpower. If you believe America to be a super power, then you must believe the Soviets were as well because for a decent stretch they basically carved the world up between each other and balanced each other out. Soviet Union was broke, which is why they didn't last long. But again money isn't the ultimate determining factor in being a global power, military prowess is. Money will just help you stay at the top longer.
2
@rojvankoc7252 No nation lasts forever, the Chinese included. If your contention of being "where it has been for a thousand years" is the same ethnicity being in that same geographical region. I'd imagine there are other places who've been around for thousands of years as well. You're literally debating around in circles. Quick question, were your parents cousins?
2
@Vroomfondle1066 It's possible but if I'm from east Timor, the alternative couldn't be much worse.
2
@zerg230 I'm not sure about the UK but France's history of aggression and crimes makes the United States look like choir boys.
2
@wallmuncherof85 apartheid states don’t function like that
2
@Omkar-vj2md Name one thing I said which isn't absolute fact and a fantasy.
2
@headhunterkonyak4337 I have no issues with India's non compliance. India is an independent nation and they can take what ever stand they wish are in their interests regarding sanctioning or not sanctioning Russia. Are you people dull or something? Do you even read what you're responding to?
2
@oppertunist-trader So you're saying you're not bias? How about you be completely honest and answer one simple question. Have you or have you not noticed a person defecating on the street, train tracks or the beach? A simple yes or no. I don't expect you to actually tell the truth but I'm hoping you might be a rare exception.
2
@davesprivatelounge It's risky pending on who you burn. There isn't too much of a downside for OZ pissing off Paris is there? Aside from causing a hissy fit what exactly can the French do?
2
@GL-iv4rw Slavs aren't Western.
2
@Lobos222 After what the Australians have put them through, I'd imagine if China did it's worse they probably wouldn't even feel it. I highly doubt China will push a policy that kills 1/3rd of their population.
2
@cardenova You sure about our government bluffing about sanctions? Lately they seem to hand them out like candy even to friendly nations who "get out of line." Not sure why India would be any different.
2
@Larbi Slimane, I'm no expert on this topic but I did follow their incursions into Syria. They literally cut through Syria like a hot knife through butter with very little opposition. They are as we speak occupying every single piece of land they've entered with again very little opposition.
2
@valmiro4164 I'm not even sure China could be as destructive in Africa as France has been. Even if they tried. Hell few nations could stoop to the level of evil that the regime in Paris seems to find so normal.
2
@valmiro4164 Yup that Frenchie attitude seems to be all over this thread. It's surreal.
2
@TheThreatenedSwan So are you arguing that they should be robbed by France because of this? If my neighbor was an idiot, would it be okay for me to sneak into his house and rob him? Is that the argument you're making?
2
@Andy Elliot, No one is going to put any meaningful sanctions on China over this. The Chinese seem to know just how far to push without losing anything. Their support for Russia is fairly limited (with the end game of making Russia beholden to them) without going too far with that support that it would hurt their worldwide export business.
2
They're claiming the waters not the islands.
2
@Hollywood2021 So you'd feel better if I said I bribed 15 thugs into doing it for me? Make the analogy fit better? Would you still say "I was outsmarted" after your family is slaughtered? I doubt it, you'd be crying bloody murder. Types like you are never intellectually honest unless something affects you directly.
2
The words capable and French military should never be used in the same sentence.
2
@NPJGlobal I'd imagine they'd both agree with me on the state of modern France and it's military prowess.
2
The western Europeans generally view eastern Europe as a simple buffer between them and chaos. They view them as children who need to be controlled. This fact has not gone unnoticed in eastern European capitals.
