@t19-k4z Yea they've benefited so well that all the nations under French money policy are all lagging behind their neighbors who aren't. In many cases by massive amounts. The regime in Paris conducts it's business in such a way that France should be a pariah state on the world stage.
66
@t19-k4z So you're saying France spending it's energy in this region was altruistic? Seriously?
54
Thankfully it looks like those days are over as France is losing it's power and prestige on the world stage. It's getting harder and harder for them to push through their will in Africa. The tide is turning.
46
@t19-k4z It's about as true as gravity being real.
35
@raeraesocraycray7702 As weak as Africa's leaders are France is losing it's influence worldwide and other players who perhaps offering to treat them a tad bit better are moving in. China, Russia and Turkey have of late been trying to chip away at France's influence in different nations. The most notable ones being Turkey in Libya and Russia in Mali. This is a slow process which has begun and is like a train. It will be hard if not impossible for a waning power like France to stop. No one will have to "buy" themselves out of anything.
32
@Marc Andrassy You don't know much about this channel do you?
20
@t19-k4z That absurd ideology being greed?
6
@Markus Z, without French influence there would be less destabilization. France needs to keep these nations destabilized which is why they spend so much money funding warlords and terrorist organizations. Then they come in as the saviors. They recently tried this in Libya to try to get back some of their influence there. They funded a warlord to topple the internationally recognized government there. The warlord failed but it destroyed the country and it's already fragile infrastructure. No France-=Less money for terrorist organizations and warlords=less destabilization.
6
@dorianodet8064 Under-discussed because 99% of mainstream media outlets ignore France's crimes in Africa.
3
@tomo_xD The line was actually created by a Greek politician. He said in WW2 the Germans came with tanks, in 2010 they came with banks. Either way just because colonization did happen before the advent of tanks, it's still a good line.
3
It's surreal how France always talks about democracy and human rights while at the same time exploiting the living hell out of these nations and making sure they never have a proper democracy for themselves. In many cases they kill their leaders who don't do France's bidding or fund terrorist organizations to terrorize the governments of those they can't control. It's pure and utter madness and this truth must be taken into the light worldwide. France must be shamed into leaving these nations alone.
2
@zerg230 I'm not sure about the UK but France's history of aggression and crimes makes the United States look like choir boys.
2
@valmiro4164 I'm not even sure China could be as destructive in Africa as France has been. Even if they tried. Hell few nations could stoop to the level of evil that the regime in Paris seems to find so normal.
2
@valmiro4164 Yup that Frenchie attitude seems to be all over this thread. It's surreal.
2
@TheThreatenedSwan So are you arguing that they should be robbed by France because of this? If my neighbor was an idiot, would it be okay for me to sneak into his house and rob him? Is that the argument you're making?
2
@Briselance Even at the worst of their abilities they probably wouldn't be able to cause the level of damage France has. Pointing out to someone who might commit a crime doesn't excuse a person from the crime. China and Russia are both entrenched in many African nations and these nations don't see the same level of destruction and destabilization as they've seen from France. So it's a bad argument in theory and also a bad argument in practice. Even if it were a good argument, you're essentially saying France's standard is that they treat people better than Russia and China? Wow Sad part is, they're worse. Much worse. The world is quite lucky France is a weak and waning power that is only able to cause this level of destruction in one small corner of the planet. Imagine they had the power the United States has? Terrifying prospect, thankfully they're going in the opposite direction.
2
Very perceptive.
2
The older ones are dying. They're in their last gasp. The regime in Paris is in full panic mode about their influence waning in Africa. I'd be shocked if in 50 years this situation didn't vanish.
1
@Sacedceltic, over the past 30 years. How many of those years was the interest rate over the rate the French pay these nations? So basically you rob them 99% of the time and then claim you're a good guy because of that one time they benefited from the arrangement? That's wonderful, how about you extrapolate your ideals to a business deal between us. You send me 100 dollars every day of the month. And for one day of the month I'll send you back 110. If you think France's deal with AFrica is so good for Africa, you'll take this deal with me no? Also if the regime in Paris would be so delighted to get rid of this burden of Africa, they wouldn't be fighting tooth and nail to keep their influence there. Don't kid yourself. France needs to be sanctioned and made a pariah state on the international stage until the regime in Paris stops it's exploitative and anti democratic policies in Africa.
1
@sacredceltic Maybe because they were bullied into it? Wouldn't be the first time no? See believing something you want to believe and then cherry picking facts to force fit your emotional point of view isn't exactly a rational way to do things. Just sayin... This literally reminds me of this Russian dude trying to convince me that Russia is trying to save Ukraine. He argued just like you lol
1
@sacredceltic You can't wait to see how they will fare financially once they replace it with anything else? Hmmm It almost sounds like you're hoping they fail and people starve to death. Why? So you can feel better? Not surprising that you'd be the type of person who would actually defend the misery France is causing in this part of the world. Hell you'd probably try to defend France's past genocide in Algeria too, somehow telling me slaughtering their men women and children was "good for them." Well done my man, well done.
1
@voidvector The average interest rate over the past 30 years has been between 7-9 percent. So essentially France is getting 7-9 percent(on average over 30 years) and then giving these nations .7% of it. And this moron earlier is essentially saying this is a good deal for Africans lol
1
@voidvector I wish someone had been giving me their money so I can invest it somewhere and only have to pay them .7% interest. That is straight up highway robbery lol 200 million poor people being robbed blind :O(
1
France would just start a civil war in that country through terrorist organizations they've been funding and drive the country into the gutter with millions dead. So yea, no one will be taking those bastards to court anytime soon.
1
In a way yes but not as controlled a colony as these African nations. Due to the fact the Europeans still have control over their currency. These nations have no control over the CFA. If America controlled the European central bank it would be an apples to apples situation. It doesn't.
1
@arty3738 If the Russians said the world isn't flat, it wouldn't make it false just because the Russians are saying it. It isn't simply the Russians saying this, most of the world knows this to be true. It's been true for a long long time.
1
@Purple_flower09 Something doesn't become propaganda just because it challenges your worldview.
1
@Yannister CFA was made to look like an option but was made an obligation because France would literally get rid of any government who was opposed to it. Anyone who leaves suffers. Either from internal chaos, economic attacks or terrorist attacks. Claiming it's optional is like claiming businesses who pay the mafia is also optional.
1
@DrewNguyen_99 USA is more deadly for sure but no one denies it. France however likes to pretend it isn't deadly while doing all this nasty stuff.
1
@Yannister Optional yes. Just like the Mafia in the 1930s which made it optional for businesses to pay them protection money. Not to mention over the decades anytime a government even hinted there was either a coup, civil strife or a string of terror attacks in that country. Yes yes, very optional. The options given to the country where, either you stay in or people die.
1
@Collin Marshall, Actually it was America who helped France overthrow Gaddafi. God knows what they offered Obama in return for that help. France has a weak military and was not up to the task, so they had to throw something America's way to get them to finish the job.
1
@jasonmaguire7552 Zimbabwe is essentially the worst case scenario. But if you look at the situation on average the nations within the CFA have lower living standards and lower economic growth than those outside of the CFA. Just because that continent has trouble getting certain things don't doesn't automatically make it okay for France to rob them for so long. You're using the logic of a sociopath. The idea that they're helping their victims.
1
@Grine, You say "without much of a problem" but France engineered one coup and attempted another which failed. Not to mention the insane amounts of money they're funneling to terrorist organizations and warlords to destabilize and punish the government. Mali essentially went with Wagner to ward off French funded warlords. Once France stops destabilizing that country they won't feel the need to bring in groups like Wagner. Also as bad as Wagner is, it's still nowhere near as dangerous as having France in there. Last I checked Wagner hasn't slaughtered millions of people in that region.
1
@wilhelmbittrich88 It's a dying power only able to impose it's will on poor African nations with no weapons. The rest of the world laughs at them when they attempt power plays. It's getting so bad that even these small poor African nations are starting to stand up to these thieves.
1
Not one of the prime movers, theeee prime mover. They basically begged Obama to do it. Obama said he'd help but he'd lead from behind. Then after 4 days the French military was essentially tapped out and ran out of munitions and America had to step in and Finish it off. God knows what they offered Obama in return because France knew it wouldn't be able to handle the job itself.
1
We push around the planet. France pushes around a few poor nations who can't fight back. Difference is America for all it's evil isn't as terrible as the regime in Paris. Imagine France had America's might? The world would be fuked lol
1
The difference is the Euro and the Pound have independence and can set monetary policy. The nations in the CFA can't. Not to mention that if the ECB decided to stop pegging the Euro to the dollar America wouldn't fund warlords and terrorist organizations to create chaos in these nations. It's really a strange analogy you're trying to draw. Most of these nations are kept in the CP through threats. Some come back to as a way to appease the pain the mafia boss is putting on them.
1
@Mira Moche Propaganda is false information. Calling factual information propaganda is itself propaganda. This was an anti-French video. But it was also a factual video.
1
@Mira Moche So that is what you do? When someone confronts your world view you have an emotional meltdown and start screaming idiot? Is that your argument here? Well done skippy And remember if it weren't for us you froggers would be speaking German lol Waiting your next emotional rant with little reason and logic.
1
I'd love to live long enough to see the day where France gets colonized. It's going to happen but I probably won't see it.
1
@t19-k4z It was probably more about exploiting people under the guise of ideology. If they believed in a universalist idea they wouldn't have done such terrible things to these people over and over again.
1
@Briselance Some are better some are worse, what's nice is to give them the opportunity to decide which to be. It's almost like the argument you're making is that because some other African nations aren't doing well that somehow gives France the right to rob these nations? Is that the argument you're making?
1
@Briselance Worse, a lot worse than any modern colonial power. Just ask the people living in these nations. In a perfect world France would be an international pariah on the international stage and their regime in Paris sanctioned for crimes against humanity. Not to mention reparations for the huge sums of money and resources extracted from these nations. But they're black who cares right? I love your mind set, I really do.
1
@skeletorlikespotatoes7846 If that was the case you'd think a world power would figure this out and disengage? Well England eventually did when the cost to benefit ratio didn't make sense anymore. France however has been very prolific in controlling and exploiting it's former African colonies. Nor have any of these nations under the French boot benefited in any meaningful way. It's essentially been death, destruction and poverty the entire way. Germany really doesn't fit into this conversations because they were never really a large colonial power.
1
@skeletorlikespotatoes7846 Once that level of colonial corruption sets in, it's hard to get rid of. Getting rid of France is probably step 1 to recovery. Getting rid of corruption is step 2 (which will take longer) But you can't start step 2 until you complete step 1.
1
@mathieuraymond9356 There were obviously places where England slaughtered the inhabitants and no one is excusing that. What we're primarily discussing here are their behaviors in Africa. Secondly I can't believe you said something like "France developed the countries." France did nothing to developpe any of these nations, all it did was kill it's people, destroy their culture, foster corruption in officials and steal resources. Not to mention all the slaughtering France did the millions it killed during it's genocide in Algeria (which wasn't that long ago.) Fact of the matter is, these nations eventually have to stand up and kick France and it's influence out of their nations. It's a lot like killing cancer. To be healthy it must be done.
1
@mathieuraymond9356 Really, you're going to turn into one of those war crimes deniers? You probably think the holocaust was made up too. I didn't think I'd come across a real live one like you here in these comments sections.
1
@Marianofortepiano When you do terrible things, it makes sense people will call it out. France is no stranger like any other nation to spit on others when they do terrible things. So it's okay for you to spit on everyone but it's a huge problem when you're spit on? You're not special. Also are you seriously going to claim France brings benefits to Africa? That would be like me going to my neighbors house, stealing everything, killing his family and then saying i'm a positive influence because I then gave him a loaf of bread. Then I can complain no one talks about the good things I did for my neighbor. Do you not realize how insane your post is?
1
@mrslowne6103 And who exactly would be funding these "anti France" bots. France isn't important enough on the world stage for anyone to spend that kind of money. The question you should be asking yourself is why do so many people around the world feel this way about France?
1
@mrslowne6103 Was France opposing war when it destroyed Libya along with the United States? Oh so France opposed war once, so we should completely ignore everything else it did and does? Bush was a psychopath for invading Iraq and should be in jail. Just like many members of the French regime should be in jail for what they've done in Libya, Algeria and literally most of Africa. You claiming France's role in Africa is causing stability is just as insane as Bush claiming the invasion of Iraq freed the Iraqi people. The sheer insanity of these statements makes me shake my head. When put under any sort of microscope the arguments that war mongers like you make fall apart.
1
@pierren___ Sure they do. Just like how France holds on to their reserves to help them right? What kind of nonsense is this? Do you also believe the earth is flat and the moon doesn't exist?
1
@markusz4447 Yes but it surely makes it worse. France has been known to be in bed with shady terrorist organizations for their interests. Kind of like when that large French company got caught in Syria funding ISIS with the French government trying to cover it up. They were literally convicted in court for it. That is how the French establishment with help from the regime in Paris conducts it's business. They should be put under sanctions in my opinion by the rest of the world.
1
@M414-q6o Difference being France is a dying and waning power, so all these shenanigans probably won't work. They are slowly going to get kicked out of Africa and they seem to know it. Why do you think the leaders of this regime are having a meltdown over it.
1
Well civil strife has already started in their country and terrorist organizations and warlords suddenly have a lot more weapons and funding than they should.
1
@KR, Yes they will eventually leave them alone. Not because they want to but soon they will have no choice. France is slowly being dislodged from North Africa as we speak. This will spread to other nations as well. Also I wouldn't talk about "Europe" leaving Africa alone. The vast majority of European nations do nothing in Africa. It's mostly France, England and Italy to a much smaller degree.
1
So that is one how excuses plunging 200 million people into poverty and starvation? Not to mention the mass slaughter of millions? That would be like me shooting you in the head, slaughtering your family, robbing your house and then claiming I shouldn't be judged for it because anyone else with the opportunity would have done it to you. That may or may not be true but it doesn't make it right does it? France must one day account for these crimes.
1
@wilhelmbittrich88 So let me understand your logic here. Africans are dumb so France should manage their money. Africans deserve to be robbed by France due to their shortcomings I prefer Africans to be to be robbed so my investments in France can grow. Do you have any idea what a sociopathic lunatic you sound like? Are people around you on a daily basis aware of these ideas you have and your character? If not, they should be.
1
@nailil5722 The French are lazy and don't produce as much as the Germans. The only reason they're considered a first rate nation is because of all the wealth they extract from Africa. Once that ends, France is in trouble. Which isn't far off away btw.
1
China doesn't monopolize the monetary system of any nation. Nor does it ever do it by force like France.
1
@Mira Moche No they can't leave the CFA if they want. Others have tried with horrible consequences. Perhaps they're terrified because they've seen what does to other nations who do it. Warlords and terrorists get funded to the gills and the country is destroyed. France rules this area through fear and corruption.
