  1. Initially I had some difficulty finding 90wGL-5 for the differential on my '98 LS400. So I called Lexus of N. America and asked whether multiviscosity oil was acceptable. The person who answered didn't know but said she would call back. The reply was that only single viscosity was to be used. I checked the web site of one of the major makers of multiviscosity oils and they, too, said that theirs should not be used when single viscosity was required. Fortunately Amazon sold Miller's 90w GL-5 at a reasonable price. In retrospect I almost wish I hadn't changed the oil even at 140K. The old fluid looked almost like new and there was no debris on the magnet. But now I don't have to worry about it. At 23.5 yo, still my daily driver and happy that it is!
