Virtually everyone collaborated with the Nazis in the 1930s - Brits, Americans, Poles, Czechs, Greeks, French & everyone. No big deal to say that pre-Israelis collaborated with them in the 1930s because everyone was.

Until that time, Jews had to wear yellow stars, not allowed to visit park, theatres, encouraged to emigrate etc etc. Nobody in the 1930s could imagine what would happen in the 1940s. You are viewing history retroactively. People who lived through the period could only judge what the Nazis were doing at the time - NOT what they were going to end up doing.

After Kristallnacht, the first several hundred Jews were murdered out of the tens of thousands arrested. So during 1939, Jews were facing persecution in Germany and the occasional murder. Yet the chance of the latter was still statistically very low. Kindertransport should be analyzed in this light. It is like Ben Gurion's statement of 1938: "I he would rather save just half of German Jewish children by sending them to British Mandate Palestine than all of them by sending them to the UK" Ben Gurion was talking about saving the Jews from UNPLEASANTARIES. Ben Gurion & Nobody imagined what would happen a few years later.
