What was the purpose of this Mandate ? To create a Jewish National Home. The currency was the Palestine Pound. It had 3 languages inscribed on it - English, Arabic and Hebrew. It is notable that during the Mandate Period, the following entities were purely Hebrew entities: Palestine Pound Palestine Philharmonic Orchestra Palestine Brigade Anglo-Palestine Bank Joint Palestine Appeal Palestine Football Team

  12. ​ @IslamJackson  There is no such thing as "fakestine" or " fakestinians". After Israel finishes the war (with Trump letting them do a proper job this time) the Gazans will be begging for unconditional surrender. Nothing else will do.

  14.  @marknicholson2281  Nope. The Balfour Declaration was a statement of intent by the British Government to follow certain policies. It had no legal status in international law. What had legal basis, was the San Remo Treaty of 1920. This treaty, signed unanimously by all 51 member states of the then League of Nations, agreed to create a Mandate. The aim of this Mandate was to reconstitute a Jewish National Home. Thus, an area of the defunct Ottoman Empire was deliberately carved out for this purpose. In the entirely hypothetical situation that there were no Jews claiming that land, the Palestine Mandate would not had been carved out. The borders would have followed other patterns facilitating other goals.
