@Comsofficer I understand what you're saying. What I'm saying is that she had her wits. Most of all, she has the capacity to process what's going on. A housecat does not. In a sense, Loughner was at least attacking a fellow human therefore they're peers to a degree. But bashing in a cat's head is somehwere in the range of burning ants with a magnifying glass.

@Comsofficer But cats & dogs are inferior animals. A pussycat isn't winning in a fight to the death with a human. You know that. I know that. The perpetrator knows that. A human may be caught unawares but a human can think fast & often think his way out of the predicament. A siamese cat can't. The reason I used the ant analogy is because it's still a fundamental disrespect of another sentient being's right to exist.

I really want to say this is isolated & the person who committed the crime is just a sicko. But damned if I can. I've yet to see any stories (if there are, I'd like to see them) of liberals doing such a thing. At least Jared Loughner went after a member of congress who can (presumably) defend herself.
