  2. Touche. But are we really going to assume that they don't speak Spanish? Not even a little bit? That's counter-intuitive. Don't get me wrong, I know people born & raised in the States who can't speak English very well but they got the basics down pat. I just read that only about 10% of the Nahuatl speaking peoples are monolingual. Granted, it's a wiki-fact but that's about 150K people if it's true. You've made your point.

  3. The other cat broke it down for me. I had tunnel vision for a 2nd. But I still think that it's counter-intuitive to think someone is in Mexico & can't speak a word of Spanish. But I'm a trained learner so that's hard fro me to understand anyhow. I guess being in a tribal situation is immersion & isolation to 1 linguistic. But I can't imagine them not having contact with other people. But I could be wrong. I've been wrong before.

  5. It's not a stereotype at all. Tacos came from Mexico; not Spain. It's an indigenous dish of the country. Either way, he didn't say all Mexicans eat tacos. He said that the tacos are contributing the cops weight problems. This has dick to do with culinary preferences. In addition, I have yet to meet a Mexican citizen that doesn't speak Spanish... except maybe the deaf mutes or the infants. Now if you mean a Chicano or naturalized person, that's 1 thing. But Mexico speak Spanish.
