Remember the 2000 election? Nader cost Gore the election. Not that Gore was the second coming or anything like that but I think he'd've been better than Bush. So did 48.4% of voters. I say all that to say that we can't afford to have another Bush in office.

The supposition of conspiracy is fun to talk about around the campfire but it's not realistic. I do agree that there's an illusion of choice. Bu tI also know that the elected politicians are only cogs in a much larger, organic machine whose own failure & inefficiency is as much a function of it as gaining weight is a function for fat Americans. Also, it doesn't seem intuitive to me that some of the officials, who come from a manufacturing background (family in factories) would export jobs.

And you'd be wrong because Gore had the highest percentage of votes. And don't get me wrong, I understand what you're saying. I actually voted for Nader. But what you're saying is that you want a new guy in who'd get even more pushback, much of it from his own party, than what's happening recently. Yes, this 2-party system is problematic. But I also know that we need a stabler economy if we wanna have that philosophical conversation about the need for multiple-party, political discourse.
