  2. i guess you don't see the difference then. the post cartoon shot the man who's being credited (or blamed) for the recovery bill. this cartoon didn't even make much sense. nevertheless, the lack of understanding on the washington post's (and your) part is similar to bill o'reilly going to sylvia's & an anita baker concert. you don't get it do you?

  4. no. in that case chimp equaled the president. how is it that you're missing that? the cops didn't shoot congress that approved it. the cops didn't shoot speaker pelosi. the cops shot a chimp (perjorative used by racists) and then made a remark about a bill pushed by a man that's often called a chimp. you're a very smart man. how on earth is this escaping you? are you compensating? are you really blind to history?

  5. no you don't. i'd hazard that you haven't even examined why the (ny) comic was offensive versus this (wash.) comic. yes, the shooting was absolutely offensive because of the reference to the bill AND the racist connotation. like i said, the fact that you don't see the difference is similar to the o'reilly/sylvia's deal. you guys don't get it. what's worse, you'd dismiss the conversation before engaging it. i didn't say "live in the past". but i ask "do you understand how past affects present?"

  6. assupmtions? no, i'm going of empirical evidence (since you like occam so much). what's more, occam's conceptualization of examining things is fine... in a vacuum. but this isn't a social vacuum. things are all connected. let's talk about newton's law that matter is attracted to itself. or eisntein's theory that all things are relative. those are more applicable. i can pretend that i haven't heard the outrage. but i can't ignore the personal outrage i felt looking at the comic with my black eyes
