@melojordans23 What about the battle on that field on Earth?

@NitsuaNaed Not all the people that believe in it are worthless. Heck, not all the people that believe in silly things are worthless. It takes all types of people to make a rounded world. Try not to be so harsh. Just point & snicker at the sillies.

Not stepping in front of that moving train is NOT a little decision. It DOES effect things. That said, a Scientologist probably isn't much different than a Santarian. Ultimately, it boils down to the personal integrity & the quality of the person across who you come. I'm Black. I could care less who's prejudiced against my skin. What I DO care about is if that prejudice shapes policy. As a radical, secular humanist, I care if Christians are affecting legislation that restricts rights. Dig?

@NitsuaNaed Not necessarily. You can be a Scientologist & not walk in front of a moving train. You can be a Mormon & avoid falling into the lion's den at the zoo. You can be a Christian & not jump out of a place sans a parachute. Sometimes religion is just religion. There's no need to be the thought police. The real concern is that religious groups try to write legislation that has an effect on other people's lives. THAT'S when we need to be concerned. Otherwise, who cares how a Muslim eats.

@1:00 "That's 1 of their main tools." Funny. I thought their main tools were John Travolta & Tom Cruise.

(cont'd) Secondly, the notion of belief needing proof is stupid in & of itself. I believe my girlfriend loves me. It's an abstraction such that "knowing" it is observing it. I can say, "she does things for me 'cause..." 'cause I don't read minds thus I must assume her motives. But I believe it. As for what Jews, Sikhs, Jainists, Shintoists, Zoastrians, Taoists, Hindus & Satanists believe, I don't care. I won't use my energy judging what they believe. I dunno about you but I'm too busy for that

The problem (rather my problem) with your premise is that, in an effort to arbitrate what other people think, you're treating "everyday" stuff (which we ALL deal with) as if it's, somehow, mutually exclusive to more profound, "philosophical" stuff. I don't think it is. In other words, there's no difference in the logical decision making process of not stealing. If it derives from "thou shalt not steal" or "I won't steal because I respect the other person's humanity". it's still the same result.

@NitsuaNaed I'm not sure if that's the way to go, mate.
