@Jyagos1 Bruce Lee was NOT Chuck Norris's teacher. That's a myth. As for "kicking someone's ass philosophically", a true philosopher wouldn't even engage in such a discussion. Philosophy is the quest for truth; not the battle between a set of beliefs. Bruce would've laughed at you for saying such silly things.

As for Bruce laughing at hyperbole, I guarantee he would've. He said, in his own words, "... the word 'star' turns me off, Man". If he was consistent with that principle, then he'd be consistent in laughing at your premise. Philosophy isn't about having the right answer or "kicking ass". Philosophy AND the martial arts are modes of finding truth. Martial arts are also the art of war: an attempt to find beauty & order within a conflict while subtracting one's "self" from the conflict.

@Jyagos1 At his very best, Bruce was equivalent to an athletic, 3 Dan. That's not saying he wasn't an accomplished martial artist. I'm just saying that, in the effort of full disclosure & for the sake of the same integrity to which you referred, we have to be completely honest about things. He wasn't "brawny". Sinewy perhaps but physics won't let history paint him as brawny. Don't get mad at the truth. Be philosophical.

@Jyagos1 Not that its the best metric in the world, Chuck is actually a few months older than Bruce. And if you think Chuck only practiced Tang Soo Do, you don't know much about him or martial arts. Bruce majored in philosophy. Tis true. But I was a premed major, that doesn't automatically make me more equipped to administer treatment to a sick or injured person. As for Bruce having "brawn", it sounds like you don't know him well either. He went 140.
