you've read that in scotland? nuff said. tell you what. look up what the meherry med students said about it. nuff said

of course racism is bullshit. but i think that, in order to eliminate racism, other groups need to understand some things. 1) black people are collectively pissed off for some very valid reasons 2) the collateral effects of slavery are very real 3) institutional racism is very real 4) even if you descend from immigrants, being white insures white privilege (not assuming you're white) 5) the playing field is NOT even i'm not assailing you. i really want you to understand

see? knowledge is far from a fluid homogeneous concept. the narrative of science is written by scientists that may (or may not) have motivations beyond intellectual. as a student of any discipline, you should already know that.
1
i guess what i'm trying to say that you can't eliminate the epistemology of the discussion in order to qualify your minute points (even if they may contain veracity). don't do that. better yet, if you perceive it to be nonsense, don't read or don't respond. remember, it was you who chose to engage me; not vice versa
1
just being devil's advocate, you need to acknowledge the lessons that history teaches. the tuskegee experiment is a fact that no one can deny with a straight face. i'm tough; not gangsta. i'm a black nationalist; though i know racial supremacy is bullshit. in this case, i can't be totally objective no matter how hard i try. i'm not tryna fight you. but please, at least admit that there are some facts you just can't mitigate. therefore you MUST keep a healthy degree of skepticism

well a human being has organic systems, functions & is made of 1T cells. a virus is a protein capsule, DNA & tail fibres. to a more sophisticated, organic being, perhaps a human being IS nothing more than a bag of mostly water. in truth, that's EXACTLY what we are. but that's not my point with that comment. i'm alluding to the need to take all things with a smidgen of salt. you're cherrypicking. stop it

you may mean cointelpro. but counterpole might be something new to me. either way, i try to take all things with a grain of salt. epistemology is something that's always emergent therefore we must always consider differing views, nuance variations & gray areas. strangely enough, eisenhower warned us to beware of global politicans but he's accused of being 1. same with our man obama. i'm ALWAYS a skeptic
1
i'll speak how i choose. also, ideas are not static. if you choose to think 1 thing exists without the other, you're being intellectually shallow. but like i said, you're free to pick up your toys & run home
1
that's not what happened. they were INFECTED then left untreated. they weren't just going in for treatment & denied antibiotics. i says there that you're in scotland so you don't really have access to the original records. but yes, there was a specific instance where gov't doctors played louis pasteur with black men
1
that's not exactly the case. the english i speak is different from a cockney, received pronunciation or gaelic anglish. there is much in common but it's not homogeneous. example: what you call the bonnet of a car, i call the hood. what you may call a biscuit, i call a cookie. i could continue but clearly this isn't an issue of potAto pototto
1
if you use a direct quote, isolate it from its original framework & themata in order to frame it as a talking point instead of a substantive premise, you're cherrypicking. that's what you did. i said that a virus is a very mutable organism (for lack of a better term). BUT, what i said prior was that the gov't that SHE had mentioned had already been on record for what? infecting some of its black male citizens with what? mutable disease. feel me?
1
did oswald shoot kennedy? probably. did he act alone? HELL NAW. if there was a practice in medieval england called prima nupta that was designed to breed out the scots, welsh & irish it's not far fetched that someone created a disease to kill of blacks here in america. now kate...she needs to eat a cheeseburger. she needs to keep that cushion for the pushin' (forgive my crudeness)
1
hell, the Jena 6 was a hate crime. BUT, it was in retaliation for some specific crimes & a culture of racially motivated violence. i remember that guy in TX being dragged to death. i also remember dennis rodman (bulls forward) paying for the funeral. & yes, black people have been shafted for a looooooong time. i'm a 6'5" 220lb man. imagine what i've experienced & we're the same age. feel me yet?
1
i have not put ANY words in your mouth. i've identified the issue & defined your allusion. sure, we';re all 1 people. but the reality is that we're not on a level playing field. to deny that reality would be naive or intellectually dishonest. if you want to eliminate racism, you have to discuss it's pathology. how can a physician treat a disease if he hasn't identified it's symptoms & its pathology? by saying "in a perfect world there'd be no disease" or "this disease is all in your mind".
1
i'm not arguing against someone else. YOU joined the thread. if you don't wanna play, pick your toys & go home. otherwise, stop thinking you can compartmentalize my points. because ideas aren't static & they build upon each other, you can't hop in then expect me to defend your single points. also, there's no "straw man" application here. you're either not understanding or not trying to understand the premises that i've presented.
1
i think you have me mistaken
1
...like i said before, the narrative of history has shown us that the gov't has purposely targeted black males. is it too far fetched to consider that a virus strain may have mutated inside a human's body? after all, a virus is only a constantly replicating, protein capsule containing DNA.
1
...perhaps that's more a function of shrewd commerce than social destruction. but i'll always say (much like i told our scottish friend that joined the debate), we need to maintain a healthy degree of skepticism. is there a majestic 12 & illuminati? i dunno. but, is there a set of well established practices within a well established good-ol'boy network? HELL YES...
1
menthol? perhaps. menthol is anesthetic, its crystallizes & i also dilates lipid channels. but i don't thing that was by design. newports are definitely marketed at a certain group. strangely enough, when i did smoke, it was either marlboro lights or camel wides. i'm so glad i banished that habit... sure, i'd love to have you as a friend
1
the conspiracy theories will always be there. i guess the truth usually lies somewhere on middle ground. the only thing i was pointing to, was the actual precedent that was set for what could essentially be called "bio-genocide". i could also speak about how malt liquor & ripple (complex sugars with added preservatives & colorings) at marketed at people who have more delicate kidneys & decreased insulin sensitivity (mainly blacks)...
1
nevertheless, don't treat it as a moment "to feel stupid". think of it as a moment to share. let it be a point of departure. admittedly, you & i aren't exactly like minded. BUT, i've definitely shared some of what radicals (like me) are thinking. winslett looked better when she was hearty & curvy... all women do
1
no. we MUST understand something about the subtle differences. if you think this construct is going to be homogeneous, you're nuts. if you want homogeneous, you're also quite boring. what i'm saying is that there's an elephant in the room. we aren't gonna "get there" until we address it
