  1. ps, 75,000 civilians died in nagasaki too. don't forgot that the us lost in vietnam & korea (basically to communist china). don;t forget that the united states is not really going to be a world economic power either. software technology is being developed in india, microtechnology still emerges from japan (the guys we "beat") & precious metals & natural resources are coming from africa & s america nowadays. so make sure to define "winning" in a concrete way before you respond

  3. i don't disagree with that except that maybe killing 1/4M civilians was a bit rash. the truth is, no one wins a war. they always suck & they only winners are the companies that build the war machine

  5. actually, the us dropped a bomb on 2 municipalities that were occupied by unarmed citizens. if that's your idea of winning, then yes, they won. i guess killing 200,000 civilians (who may or may not support the country's war) has a degree of valor...nope, can't argue that one

  7. they beat the germans with a lot of help from the british. they nuked 274,000 civilians to force a surrender. i don't know about you but blatantly violating the 2nd geneva convention ain't a win in my book. i thought a win was a soldier besting another soldier not a bomber killing 2 cities.
