True. But I always say that facts are fluid. I'm not a religious person but I won't deny the existence of a force stronger than me. I'm just responding to that guy's comment. It was sneakily, front loaded with atheism. I think he designed it that way to set up a logical fallacy. I fancy myself as intellectually honest. I had to call him on that.

"you jabber about"? That was a dumb thing to say but I'll let that go for a moment. I'll point to YOUR jabbering & say that in a system of disbelief, it's quite presumptuous for you to declare what everyone within your sect believes. As a secular humanist, you can talk for other secular humanists. But a-theism is too broad of an umbrella. Unicorns aren't a sound analogy because I've already defined the "higher force". On the other hand, you have not fleshed out atheism. Try again.

Sure I did. Read the thread. I can show oyu a ton of atheists that believe there's no higher power. But I must say, you're doubling on yourself. You don't believe in anything until there's evidence hence your atheism. But you're claiming there's no atheist that totally disbelieves. That's inconsistent. Oh well.

The existence of subatomic particles can't be proved either. But I'm pretty sure they exist. Nevertheless, instead of doing the "aggressive atheist" thing, use that same intellectual muscle to consider the possibility of something stronger than you. I'm not talking about intelligent design or The Flying Spaghetti Monster. I'm talking about an existential abstraction.

Like a birther, atheists tend to say "your proof isn't adequate". Why do that?

It's a law of the constitution. But no matter, Obama was born in Hawai'i. Orly Taitz is merely comic relief form the economy, education, 2 wars & health care. Just sit back & laugh.

I'm not trying to "pass" anything. Your fact is based on what you believe; your opinion. Like I said, facts are fluid. If you can't accept that, you can't understand the insanity that creates a "birther". I actually said that coincidence IS a force of nature, a binding energy and fate. It sounds like you're agreeing. Cool.

True. But as the same devil's advocate, there's no proof that there isn't a higher power either. Like I said before, all one needs to do is walk outside & observe a higher power. Call it chance, the fates, forces of nature, the binding energy, etc. Call it whatever you like but it's arrogant to assume that humans are the pinnacle while not acknowledging something else. Don't you think?

What you're saying sounds good but the reality is that your "smart atheists" are arguing the exact opposite premise on THIS thread. You like evidence, scroll down to see what I mean.

Finally, someone with a real idea! That's all I'm saying. Unfortunately (and you already know this) there are some people who'd deny the presence of forces stronger than themselves. They'd use every intellectual tool at their disposal to explain it away. In relation to the initial comment, it's dangerous to piggyback this "birther" nonsense on something as pervasive as "the higher power". Know there's strong natural forces & respect them. I'd never advocate it as a "religion". NEVER.

Fact? Solid opinion? They're all the same at the end of the day. Again, it's fluid. This is the problem with your reasoning. Since you refuse to see it any other way, you miss the nuance.

1) You don't have to "prove" God's existence, you can easily step outside & observe the presence of a power that's stronger than your own being. It's not some spook in the sky but there's something. Since I dig on deists, let's call God a blind watchmaker. 2) The bithers would call your time machine a fake. Even worse, they'd try to kill baby Barack. Fucking rat bastards.
