no, you took a snippet from my comment & used it out of context moron. either way, i'd like to see you show me some evidence of this sirvey taken from this ethereal group of "most" black kids. you can't & won't because no such survey exists. in fact, you don't know any black kids yourself. you are stunningly stupid. also, since we're talking about functional literacy. you should refrain from leaving dangling prepositions; that's lousy grammar. idiot

sure, if you're right you're right. i;m just saying that we all need to take what we hear with a pinch of salt. any knucklehead can see that kristol is wrong but that doesn't make him a dumb man; just EXTREMELY misguided (perhaps chemically imbalanced). damon is clearly a bright man too but the reality is that his daddy opened his doors for him. i'm not attacking you or your commentary i'm just making sure that you're alert. peace

what's more, ludlum (& later, lustbader) both said that they designed jason bourne to be an anti-bond of sorts. TYT covers a wide range of topics that include pop culture (movies). it's "news" because it's a fun kind of subject about which we can all make a few gags & goofs, y'know. yes, damon is a little late on his commentary. BUT, he's correct. bond is an effete, anachronism. he's a sociopath & a function of the white imperialist social construct. bourne is more like an everyman (sort of).

jb may very well be a nob. bourne developed a little differently after he got a grip on himself. either way though, it's not designed to strike blows for the feminist movement. it's a narrative about a spy. bond is a product of the 50s, bourne is more from this era. however, i fully agree with you that damon's comments are later than my bedtime.

in all fairness, you need to recognize that a child that's brought up on rap music probably has a certain set of critical thinking tools that let them recognize the real from the fake. what's more, it's SUBURBAN kids that are listening to the music & trying to emulate the artform. take it from a city kid, we can discriminate. those kids aren't "believing". they just identify with the substantive content.

idiot, that's not anything close to what i said. what's more, any time you try to make a blanket statement about "most" of a race identified group, you've lost. learn to read & learn to employ FACT in your arguments. peace

in all fairness, damon didn't graduate & there's evidence that his stock broker father bought matt's way into harvard. i like damon but it's necessary to be completely honest. for what it's worth, W & ann coulter are ivy leaguers. i've gone head to head with my share or ivy league, 7 sister, stanford & u of chicagp people. i'm a northwestern guy myself. a school is a school & people are people in the final analysis. nevertheless, alfruck is a dummy so i guess it's all even

my recollection was that bourne was very disoriented when he hit marie. he was having an out-of-body experience of sorts in addition to having some personality issues (from the amnesia). in fairness, the bourne of the novels was a committed family man & 'nam vet with PTSD as well. bond is very lucid with his ethical "flexibility". bourne has quite a bit of arc & pathos. fleming's bond is a swaggering, 1-dimensional prick

the thing about reading has a caveat because we really need to examine the quality of the tests. comprehension is much different than what it used to be. in a sense, the testing methods really aren't up to speed when you look at modern learning methods & learning tools. like you said, these are all fluid concepts

what city? i'm from chicago & NY. you don't get much more city than that. but yeah, i ain't gonna approach you in a combative way because understanding gets lost like that. it often pains me that people will cut their own nose (ie firing off insults) to spite their faces (degrading the value of an opposing viewpoint). i'm 12 yrs your senior so things are a little different now & perhaps life is imitating art. but the streetsmart kids that i know, all know the differences. but it's all subjective

the thing about rap music & pop culture in general nowadays is that kids are totally immersed in it. the difference with my generation is that we didn't have all this modern access. but to me, there's still a very strong sense of what's "real" among city kids. 50 cent getting shot 9 times & surviving isn't as resonant as my next door neighbor being shot once & dying. a video with $120K cars doesn't ring true when i know that real hustlers roll in jalopies in order to divert attention
