  5. No. You blame the cashier too. Also, the likelihood of a kid bringing a pack of cigarettes home is very low. There should be a minumum age because states have borders. There's nothing worng with some uniformity within reasonable bounds. And you also need to consider the fact that kids really don't know what the hell they're doing. ie, they aren't smart enough to understand how harmful & how addictive lung-darts are. Will 6yrs make a difference? No. But at least they'll have more responsibilities

  6. It's not about being a 2nd class citizen. In fact, it's not really about its legality. It's about laws that protect other people. If you want to smoke, fine. I actually used to smoke cigarettes myself. But I was considerate enough to take it outside because I knew that 2nd hand smoke was tangibly & enumerably dangerous. It's not only a basic courtesy & an acknowledgment that we're in shared space, it's means of me not swinging my arms (legal) such that I might hit your face (illegal).
