@rfrantzt If you're not interested in "sifting" then you have to assume that ALL Blackmen are serial rapists simply because few Blackmen have committed that crime. And yes, White HAVE united against evil. Don't forget that the 1st abolitionists were White Quakers. Also, your postulate is stupid because it makes no consideration of nuance. Simply put, Irish aren't the same as Italians. Polish aren't the same as French. You speak of intellectuals but you're reasoning in a non-intellectual way.

@UnderseaCaveman Well then look at all the data.

@Lankychris What the hell is a "White sounding" name?

@AtheistrEvolutionist Don't expect Ana to split any atoms. That's not where she "lives". This is a "liberal" channel so their conclusions will be sensational & sensational. BUT, this study has everything to do with racism. They gathered data based on behaviors based of race identified substrates. The most glaring problem with studies like this is that we can't separate people from the way they've been socialized. In the end, we're all a little racist. What counts is our awareness of that fact.
1
@rfrantzt Wrong. You're forgetting that you can't just kill 1 person without having an effect on an entire family. Moreover, you're forgetting that racism is a byproduct of mis-education. It's like saying "I wanna throw a hand grenade in a bar full of skinheads" without considering that you may be taking away a family's sole provider. Even worse, you may be killing someone that could've eventually changed his mind. Besides, who wants blood on their karma. I know I sure don't. Think man. Think.

@xxdonaldqxx "Whitey" didn't invent the computer. The pc evolved from many different machines. In truth, virtual data is based on binary schematics. Binary & modular math are northeast ASIAN invention. Interestingly enough, CTRC employed Black engineers. But here's something you may find very interesting: the patent holder for the 1st railway telegraph system, ie the device that allowed moving trains to communicate while in motion, was a Blackman. The computer EVOLVED. It was "invented". Dufus

@rfrantzt You're a buffoon.

@AtheistrEvolutionist The study definitely doesn't draw a straight line but "straight" is simply a matter of perception. And I make no mistakes at all, racism is often a guiding factor in our behavior. I think that Ana's conclusion that it's pure racism is a little unrefined but I don't think we need advanced degrees in sociology to figure out this 1.
1
@anitafh1 I've actually read the study. And believe it or not, I know 2 White Tamekas. I'm simply saying that a name is just a name.
1
@AtheistrEvolutionist No. "Straight" IS a matter of perception. Sane to you isn't always sane to the next guy. And I agree that there's far too many variables. But that's not a design flaw, that's the caveat of sociological study. Either way though, it doesn't take a genius (or a master sociologist) to see the correlation here.
1
@UnderseaCaveman Hmm, you took a bit of data interpretation from a 2ndary & ran with it. That's REALLY intuitive.
1
@UnderseaCaveman It's not just a "liberal" thing my friend. I'm as radically left as it gets. I'm just not a bleeding heart about most things. Most of all, I count on my own power of reason. I try to be aware of my own racism (& perception of it) in given settings. In the end, I guess awareness should be a big part of our concepts of "judgment" because our wits are the only things that can save us. Racism exists but we can deal with it just like we deal with other social ills.
1
@ryanr20091 But your premise is wrong. Homosexuality is NOT a choice. Yes, people are born gay. The way sexuality manifests is developmental. But sexuality is ingrained. But most disturbing is that you're summarily treating sexuality like race identification. That's an extremely crude analysis.
1
@AtheistrEvolutionist I've never confused causation with correlation. That particular caveat ins't applicable here anyway. I'd like to see you suggest a better design. Moreover, you're assuming that a social study is going to yield the naked data that you think is needed to see if something is racist or not. C'mon man. We're not Vulcans. We're humans. Be like Occam; don't ignore the obvious.
1
@xxdonaldqxx So you're equating race with someone not having taken swim lessons now? You're a buffoon.
1
@ryanr20091 Why do you think being gay is a choice? Moreover, why are you trying to equate sexuality to nationality? In essence, you're implying that sex function & identity are different intra-racially. That's really stupid.
1
@rarrmonkey You're implying causality without even remembering that correlation & causation aren't the same thing. In addition, you're making that implication sans ANY data. You can do a little better than that. Can't you?
1
@Lankychris The last time I looked, my name is connected to my Black ancestors because they bore that name. In addition, Tamika isn't associated with Africa so your premise needs work. In addition, the notion of "White sounding" is silly because there's way too much nuance to names than just sound. Is Sheila White of Black? Nope, it actually ranges from Sanskrit to Gaelic. How Abijah? Is it Black or White sounding? You'd be wrong again because it's Hebrew. It's also used for boys & girls.
1
@rarrmonkey No, you tried to LEAD with a question & tried to validate your allusion with conjecture. 1) You haven't any data. 2) Your proposed methodology is flawed. My reading comprehension is fine. It's not this vids wording about controls. This vid is designed to be biased. The problem is that YOU have made a supposition without the same set of controls. So I'll challenge you outright. Read the study & get back to me.
1
@rfrantzt That's not true. You haven't even met "most Whitepeople" nor will you ever. In addition, there's so much diversity (at least in America) among people that the concept of "uniting under culture" is insane. C'mon man, study some actual anthropology instead of just bloviating.
1
@Lankychris So what's a "White sounding" name? My first name is James. So was my granfather, uncle, great grandfather, great great grandfather, (it goes on). Incidentally, all of those men were Black like me. It seems to me that a name is just a name.
1
@xxdonaldqxx What the hell does the Olympics have to do with this? Are you truly this obtuse? You're applying a childhood experience with TWO children to your outlook on an entire race? You're dumb as hell.
