  1. In Aurora, CO, pit bulls are illegal. A friend of mine had her dog confiscated until a vet determined if the dog was a pit. It was actually a boxer-shar pei mutt. But the city ruled it was a pit & euthanized it. Then they stuck her with the bill for putting down the dog, a bill for a pet cemetery AND the fine for the "illegal" dog. So a $50 dog tax, in a country that already has a high cost of living, doesn't surprise me 1 bit.
