  1. If homosexuals are indeed citizens & their rights are indeed limited, then it IS a civil rights issue. Sure, the segregation was based of race but race is something that's perceived as different or lesser. In much the same way, same-sex marriage is treated as different & lesser. Hence it's just as real a civil rights issue for homosexuals. As King said, "it's easy to talk about the oppression of others when you aren't being oppressed yourself". Nuff sed.

  2. Be careful. It's not exactly your place (lack of a better term) to decide the next person's level of victimization. I'm a big, young, tough, Black man. Last weekend, a little, Asian chick swung on me. I won't get into the why but I tell that anecdote to set up a question: if I'm more capable of self-defense, does that change the level of malice of my attacker? No. it's STILL assault. Ain't it? Sure, there's some paranoia in the LGBT discussion. but most of the subjugation is evry real.

  3. Agreed. My old man fed me in the morning, combed my hair, rubbed grease on my face (you can get wind burn in Chicago very easily) & sat up many nights to do my homework with me. He also taught me how to fix busted pipes, hang light fixtures & do major repairs on the car. To this day, he STILL teaches me about life & nurtures me even at age 38 from another time zone. As does my mother. That's good parenting & it's got less to do with gender identification & more to do with level of care.

Kal El has a professional relationship with Diana & they happen to get it in every now & then. That's not homosexual at all. That's office diddlin'.

  7. So a legal mandate that outlaws gay marriage isn't a LIMIT? That was stupid. Here, I'll try to flesh it out for you. If a homosexual person is marreid for all intents & purposes, he/she needs to have that union (or social contract or whatever you wanna name it) recognized by the state. They are entitled to the same spousal privilege, insurance discounts, tax breaks, etc. Why? Because they're paying the same taxes & into the same insurance plans as their heterosexual counterparts. Follow me yet?
