Since I'm all about fairness & I know how smart you are, I'd like you to actually check out the article on conservapedia's page. It's actually called the "Bible Re-Translation Project". It's not exactly "rewriting" the Bible. I think Cenk got a little crafty in his parsing of words. Don't get me wrong, I don't care for the conservative ethos & I have even less sentiment for the Bible. But like Joe Friday always said "just the facts".

In fairness, "American moron" & "worthless human garbage" is namecalling. In fairness, "republican" is a pretty nasty name to call a person too.

I don't disagree with you about that but I think Cenk is spinning this 1 a little too much. The "project" isn't about rewriting the book, their intent is to change their own, general interpretation. In other words, they want to parse the language. But Cenk is guilty of a similar offense in this case. And yes, Conservapedia is total garbage. But I'm suggesting that we get the bullshit directly from them & make own conclusions even IF those conclusions are the same as Cenk's. Feel me?

OF course that's what the con-artists are doing. In the end, they're retrofitting the "text' to make yet another set of talking points. Don't be shocked if it gets published & shopped throughout the Bible Belt. But I'd rather know exactly what I'm up against. Believe me, every conservative you talk to will say the same thing "we're trying to refurbish the translation into a modern 1". By reading the article, you can beat them to the punch on most of their bullshit.

Again, I think it's more intuitive to read their own statements about it THEN make a conclusion as opposed to listening to spin. Nowhere does it specifically say "we're revins the Bible". By their statement, they're attempting to adjust their interpretation to be in sync with modern English. I recommend that you actually read the article if you haven't already. It's always intuitive to get it from the horse's mouth. Agreed?

I guess what I'm trying to say that we can't just hang a "conservative drivel" sign around this issues neck then dispatch it. No, as thinking people, we have to actually take a look at it. Re-translating it & re-writing it are not the same thing. It's a matter of content vs. context. As language evolves, there's a natural change in nuance. They claim to addressing that. They don't claim to be weeding out all the liberalism.
