@ummmwhatnow It's intutive to end the war on drugs or decriminalize heroin in cocaine. Why? Because if it weren't a serious crime to possess, trade or use drugs, the criminal justice system wouldn't have anyone to fill up their prisons. Beyond that, it's a way of price control by restricting supply. Do you our "leaders" want actual free market policy on dope? Hell no. Do the self-righteous assholes on the left AND right wings want to have drug users & pushers as their moral equals? Hell no.

@ummmwhatnow Oh yeah, they're all bedfellows. While there's tons of ingenuity in that industry (as is there ingenuity in all forms of outsider capitalism), I don't think these underground trafficking systems exist without some degree of political subsidy. Like you said, there's nothing better than having a rich booster who the POLITICIAN can control instead of vice versa. So how do we change it? Write congress for referenda? Guerilla revolt? Suggestions?

@ummmwhatnow Do you think the powers that be would actually treat the drug problem as an issue of public health thereby taking off the blanket stigma? Hell no. That's why cocaine will never be decriminalized. It's so much easier to regulate benzodiazapines & Hillbilly heroin treating those addicts than addressing the real problems.
