@kyokumajr I never said it did. Did you read my comment?

@NairuOnLife They are a bit different. But to treat them as mutually exclusive instead recognizing the nuances; the fine lines that are crossed, is counter-intuitive to the process of full disclosure.

@thosewackyrepubs What's wrong with just being a gay man? Why mutilate yourself with surgery or play dress-up? I'm not trying to control what the next person does with his or her life. So please help me understand why biology can't determine that a male is a male?

@Eraserheaddf Here's the deal. If you were born a female & you are attracted to women, that makes you a homosexual woman. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. That's not to say that I think there's something wrong with trying to live as a man. I just don't understand the motives. You're not a man. Why try to be something you aren't?

@Eraserheaddf A person is born a child but circumstances, age, personal agenda, et. shape the person into a different being; at least to some degree. It's seems intuitive to me that outside influences play a large role. What I'm asking you is how it comes to pass that a person identifies as a transgender person instead of being a homosexual person. I know it's not a great idea to equate sexual preference to gender ID but it's silly to pretend they're mutually exclusive. Help me understand.

@bakedpootetoo Actually, I'm acting like a person who DOESN'T know something & I WANT TO UNDERSTAND SOMETHING. The reason I share what I know is because I don't need to hear what I already know. I don't suppose you understand the learning process. That's fine. But get out of my way when I'M trying to discover something.

@ldailey78 I never said gender was the same as sex. I said that it's foolish to treat them as concepts that are independent of each other. Gender is biological. Sexuality is social & emotional. That said, I don't understand how a person can claim to "identify" as a member of another gender. I could throw on a dress but that won't make me "identify". I could, however, be theoretically gay & engage in that life, and still identify as a gay man. You DO understand that nuance. Right?

@hardforatard Nonsense. Gender IS something you are. You ARE born with a gender. What you DO is a function of socialization. I was born male. But I learned manhood under the guidance of my father & developed my own ideas about manhood as I matured. Thus my question is this: since a gay man is still recognized as a man, what's the deal with claiming he "identifies" as a woman?

@eridanus22 The notion of "identify as women" is horseshit because how you identify isn't just a function of biological inheritance. I understand that nuance. And "clothing norm" means even less. What I'm asking is how/why can't a person just be comfortable in the skin his parents gave him. Perhaps I'm not refining the question.

@hardforatard No. My malehood is my gender. Manhood is something you earn. Not all males >13 are men. "Manhood" is a function of social development. Gender is something that comes hereditarily. Read a book. But learn basic grammar before you recommend the next guy read a book. Your welcome.
