  3. i don't think i understand your comment. but i'll say this much, she's not a smart woman in my opinion. but i don't think she scared away too many voters. i think she pulled in a base of voters AND covered mccain on the back end (among republicans). how? because he's a moderate. now if you didn't vote for mccain because you didn't want to risk her being potus, that's understandable. but no 1 runs for vp. nonetheless, 8yrs of cheney/rove is what fucked the GOP.

  5. you're correct that the 1st string is kinda old but predicting mccain dying in 4yrs isn't really realistic. that's a very stressful job but let's face it, mccain is an animal. c'mon, you know that. you're also correct that it was a cynical attempt to get the susan b anthonies. (what were they thinking?) but ultimately, the party's policy is what lost the election. palin's effect (if any) was a "preach to the choir" effect.

  6. if you blame palin you're nuts. the GOP was already fucked (by the GOP). palin wasn't to blame. in fact, she got some of those core, right wingnuts to vote. the "knock" on mccain was that he was too moderate. believe me, the entire side of that political spectrum is shot to hell. palin's not to blame. lack of education is to blame.

  7. he's a moderate. that's well established. that tends to keep the hard righters away from the polls. therefore, she pulled in the base of voters. what i'm saying about no one running for vp is that she was running as his backup & no one goes votes for 2nd fiddle. so ultimately, i don't think she was the detriment. i think the party was already toast irrespective of who was running because their philosophies aren't in the majority.
