@ohgrx Bullshit. As a teacher, you can't work with a pool of distraction. As a student, you can't work if you're distracted either. Running around with an "I Love Boobies" t-shirt tells everyone that you, the student, didn't come to work. Don't tell me "kids will be kids". These are young adults. "I Love Boobies" is for 6yos not young doctors & lawyers to be.

@GnosticAtheist That's part of the problem. You think kids have the capacity to make those choices. They don't. Now if you're talking about parents choosing the schools; I'm fine with that as long as there's standards. This ain't about state intrusion; this move was made by in-house faculty not state agents. This is about paying attention to their academic requisites. Call me the Gestapo if you like but I've taught school. Modern American kids lack the basic discipline to be competitive.

@ohgrx It can be disruptive. But whatever the reason, it doesn't much matter. A school isn't a democracy. There's a dresscode. That's how it is. The sooner the kids understand that, the sooner they'll start taking their educational experience seriously & the more they'll get out of it.

@NobodyBelievesYou You're not crazy at all mate. You have a good grasp on the issue.

@ohgrx It's not that big a deal but it's part of a larger problem. The reason we (Americans) are losing ground is, in part, because we aren't taking our education seriously. They asked Ms. Teen S. Carolina why many Americans can't find America on a World map & she babbled like a typical American. The bracelet isn't the central issue (to me). The central issue is that we've gotten away from some of the hardcore things (like work ethic in our scholarship) that once gave us an advantage.

@ohgrx "... with the seriousness of a doctor or lawyer..." Yes. I did actually. I also played sports. I also hung out with my sibs & friends. I also worked a job or 2 for spending money. When we were kids, we didn't need ridiculous bracelets to enjoy our youth. We had outlets for that "expression of youth". When it came to boobies, my buddies, brother & I would talk about them or even try to get girls to let us see theirs (with a low success rate). Kids need to worry about school not bracelets.
