@Osawsi There's no such thing as the "average" American. Irrespective of that fact, you weren't insulated from the rest of the world. The ad was straight out of the Breakfast At Tiffany's playbook. That you have access to the world wide web means you can't play the "I'm a little different so I don't what racism is" card.

@griggarian OR leave it to liberals to see the problem with how the actress is depicting the situation. There HAS been some pushback from quite a few Asian (mainly Pacific Asian) groups. Ultimately, the stereotype of the bicycle pedaling, rice patty occupying, broken English speaking Chinaman (or Chinawoman in this case) is grossly outmoded. That's not a liberal or conservative principle. That's a living in 2012 principle. Take your head out of your ass.

@Osawsi You're kidding. Right?

@MALIRIPPA Being unable to tell the difference isn't racist. Not being sophisticated enough to understand & appreciate that there are differences would be racist.

@Client404 It's depicting Chinese people as bicycle-riding, broken Eglish-speaking, rice farmers.

@griggarian Globalism is fine as long as you're not an automaton, have an education & don't become a victim to it. There's nothing wrong with global trade on an entrepreneurial, startup-biz basis either. You're just a xenophobe. But I guess if globalism (world-wide-ism) bugs you so, you could get off the INTERNET (y'know, the world-wide-web). Take your head out of your ass.
