@Thayer79 You're right. he could've been hitting that neighborhood like a madman. But that doesn't validate beating his ass like that. If I'm not mistaken, aggravated assault (To me, that's what it looks like in this video because he was prone & defenseless & non-aggressive) is a far worse crime than property damage or theft.

@dangerouslytalented In a perfect world, people respect the fact that their neighbors work their asses off to acquire a few nice things. But this ain't a perfect world. You've lived long enough to know that car locks aren't decoration. If it was your car, you'd probably be smart enough to not leave a laptop, gps & a carton of Newports in plain sight so a thief would gain illegal access to it att 3am. Am I right?

@Thayer79 I feel you. It's a pissoff because beating the guy up negates any actual crime-fighting that they did. I'm all for nabbing thieves. I don't even care if it was a trap. I've walked by trap cars & actually called the police to come lock up the car. Another time, I took the key out of the ignition of a running trap car, left a note for the presumed owner & waited for a call on my cellphone. That was only to find out it was a sting operation. And believe me, I'm NO angel.

@dangerouslytalented Most non-factory car radios are face-offs these days. But that's beside the point. The guy grabbed stuff that easily carried. People own laptops. But why not put it them the trunk? For that matter, why not leave it at home when you're out on the town? I can see having a gps. But why not lock it in the glove compartment or at least put in under the seat. As for the cigarettes, I don't know if you smoke. But I thought most smokers only carried a pack or 2 at a time.
