Aside from that, Private MAning didn't betray anyone by giving information that's accessible by the entire public. A betrayal would be handing information directly to our enemies. @TylerNull But here's the most important variable that you're ignoring: As a 1st class private (an infantryman essentially), he doesn't have access to information that's going to jeopardize or compromise any ops (overt or clandestine), initiatives, policies or campaigns. Grunts don't do anything but take basic orders like, "report for duty as ordered", "point", "shoot" and "stand the post until properly relieved".

@TylerNull But beyond that, who CARES if he sought moral support from a drag queen? For 1, there's nothing immoral about being a drag queen. Granted, it's weird as hell. But that doesn't make it immoral. For 2, what a person (soldier or civilian) does in his private life is his own business. DADT needed to be repealed because the gays soldiers were not only losing out on certain benefits of being in the service, they were being institutionally persecuted.
